bigbadcanucks
Quick fix for the vacancy created with the jersey number 17 with the departure of Kesler...and quick fill of $5M cap hit that was left open with the departure of Kesler. Kesler: 77GP - 25G - 18A - 43PTS - 81 PIM - minus 15 (30 years old)...$5M two years left Vrbata: 80GP - 20G - 31A - 51PTS - 22 PIM - minus 6 (33 years old)...$5M two years left Not crazy about the signing, but when I look at things from this perspective, I actually like it. RunningWild
Great cap hit and term. What a freekin joke he got a NTC. Benning just spend the last few weeks trying to get rid of 2 NTC (getting porr returns cause of said contracts), and within a span of 2 days hands out 2 more. It's just mind-blowing. Mike Vanderhoek
based off of other free agent signings that is great value for the dollar spent.
Chalky
Sweet, a second line player. Unlike Bonino's protected minute goals, Vrbata gets goals on the Yotes. Still not the solution, but a great piece to the puzzle.

zverta
I love the fact that Benning putting a real dent in making the best of a bad situation, but does anyone really think this team, with a core of the Sedins, is capable of making any sort of run in the next 2-3 years? Props to stocking the cupboard for a real solid Trade Deadline return next year though.

lucky_nucker
Hopefully he will fit well with the Sedins, allow Burrows to anchor the 2 line LW spot with Bonino and Kass

Lui's Knob
He was the last player of use on the UFA list. He's a great pickup, on a short term who cam pot goals in the west...although we're needing another top 6 and a stay at home dman/pmd to make the team become a wildcard contender than a solid 9-11th spot... Trade coming? (Boychuk and Ericksson anyone?)
Phil_314
Sweet signing! Wow this team can have quite some scoring depth moving forward Burr - Hank - Rad Danny - Bones - Kassian Higgins - Horvat* - Vey Richardson - Matthias - Dorsett // Hansen, Jensen

bleednucksblue
Before the signing, the Canucks had $11.75M in cap space. Now there's only $6.75M to sign Tanev, Kass, Vey and Weber (who the Canucks all sent QOs to). That said, the figure I mentioned includes all three goalies on the roster. My belief is someone is on the way out... We have no idea what JB is up to. He's already asked Burr to waive and may ask Hansen too. Maybe he's not a Tanev guy and he trades him once he signs him. Something seems to be in the works to rid this team of bodies just based on a numbers perspective.
JustABandwagoner
I like this and i hate this at the same time lol. Good signing if there isnt a NTC. I wanted to tank for Mcdavid or Eichel but its not happening ;(

CrazyCanuck_12
This is a great signing. Vrbata is extremely underrated and will be a great fit here while we bring the young guns slowly into the lineup. Excess of forwards leads me to believe that a trade might be in the works later this summer. If a trade does happen, it BETTER not include any of Horvat, Gaunce, Shinkaruk, Virtanen, etc. We finally have a decent prospect pool. Let's keep it that way.
