kenhodgejr
Dallas is in a win now position. Benn and Seguin are in their prime. This would be a trade deadline deal to give Dallas a boost for playoffs To Dallas: Eric Gudbranson Derek Dorsett Canucks 2018 first (only if we look like were picking in the 10-15 range) To Vancouver Miro Heiskanen Canucks get a highly skilled defence man for our future rebuild
JM_
Thats a very high payment for MH. if we're picking 10-15 we have a shot at a very good D man already in the 2018 draft (http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/sportsnets-2018-nhl-draft-prospect-rankings/)
stuman491
That seems like a massive over payment on the Canucks part. So far this year Eric has looked like a top 4 Defenseman. To throw a top 4 D man plus a first round pick for a player who's future is yet to be determined seems like a big gamble on the Canucks part. I'd rather keep the 1st (and draft a D man), let Dorsett walk after this year and resign Gudbranson. I think that would put us further ahead for next year. Heiskanen would a great addition, but that price is a little steep for me.

Blue Jay 22
You guys think this is an overpayment? Lol. In order for this to be fair value for Dallas, the Vancouver pick would have to be top 5 considering where Heiskanen went. Gudbranson isn't even worth a 1st by himself, and Dorsett's value, given his limited production and recent injury history, is closer to 7th round than it is 3rd round. Dallas says no. Vancouver says...why?
cripplereh
me I'd rather keep the pick and get something that should be a better player in 2 years maybe 3 at most

Like at all. That's why they hardly spent any time with him. Their board supposedly went something like: Makar Patrick Hischier Pettersson - may even be higher Glass maybe Mittelstadt
Adarsh Sant
2018 draft has a glut of highly skilled D men. Even with pick #10, we could get a player = to Heiskanen.
