Doubtful we can sustain this pace to get into the playoffs.

But we still can enjoy the ride.

Absolutely!!! And honestly just missing the playoffs probably gives us the same chance of 1st overall pick lol

This team is kinda like the '79-'80 Edmonton Oilers... can't play defense, but has decent goaltending and can score lots.

Funny thing is we are doing it without last season's #1 goalscorer,  #3 Center, our #1 Defenseman, our #2 winger and our #1 PK specialist... plus a bunch of others.

Can't wait to see how well the team can play with everyone healthy.

I am actually not surprised... after that period last year before Bo and Boeser dropped with injuries we had a similar win streak.

The fact is, Bo has matured into a bonafide top end #2.. may be even #1 center... (even though we already have the #1 center in EP40)  He can do just about anything.  He is on track to score 30+ goals and put up 60 points... plus dominate the center ice dot and do a great job of shutting down the opponent's top line... when Sutter isn't there.  When Sutter is there, he can play against weaker lines.  He is physical, he can take on anyone who wants to fight him, and he can break a game wide open with a solo rush.  He is just about a complete player.

Currently, with 15 points in 17 games, he's on pace for 72 points.  Not bad for a 3rd line center.

I didn't realize we'd played so many games already. Feels like a slow start to the season with so few back to backs. Nashville the only team there to give up fewer than 40 goals against as well as potting a ton of goals. Hell they almost gave up fewer than 30. That blueline and goaltending is insane.

While I don't put much stock into checking stats and standings at this point, I can say it's sure nice to see goals.  In having been through droughts where they were few and far between, this scoring free for all is amazing.

"and you get a goal and YOU get a goal"

Keep it coming.  Win or lose, as long as we have entertainment value that's through the roof, I'm happy.

I agree. When the announcers said that this is the first time we scored 8 goals in a game since 2009, I couldn't believe it. We have been missing this kind of action for so long. Hard to believe the last time we won a playoff series was May 2011. That is 7.5 years ago since we've heard honking of horns in the streets of Vancouver.

and they don't have defensive Ds.  They defend by spending more time in the offensive zone.

During the game in Colorado this week, Laviolette was explaining that their Ds always have the green light.  He says in the o-zone there is no positional play.  It's just 5 guys trying to score a goal.  He says it's wherever it takes them and that their guys know how to cover for each other.

Fwiw Laviolette thinks you can't really teach or practice offence.  He says there are only 15% of offensive situations that can be practiced - powerplays, two-on-ones but really the vast majority is about reads and hockey IQ.

The biggest takeaway for me in this GF standing is that we are -1 in difference.   Goals for is all good but can we stop the puck is another story.   I'm enjoying the ride for as long as they can score.
