  1. I am thinking that Justin Schultz will be representing Canada in Sochi next year.

I would have picked Crosby or Stamkos but thats just me.

You guys while we are at it maybe we should take Kyle Wellwood over Crosby and Stamkos too.

  2. The concept of risk is not one that's well understood around these parts. What's risky is not a 2-year commitment at a pretty low cap hit to a well-established vet like Sami Salo, but a 6-year commitment to an unestablished guy like Jason Garrison who came out of nowhere to be a PP force last year, scoring 17 goals. And to say that he made a "very big hometown discount"...get serious. He got 6 years at $4.6M per, and he's Jason Garrison. What do you honestly think gave up? Maybe an extra $100K per year to go play in Long Island? The guy absolutely cashed in.
  3. Very strong performance by the Canucks - strongest of the year, easily. Big statement made by Schneider. And I am $XXX less wealthy after betting on the Wild.

  4. Gotta say, I don't like the Canucks' chances tonight.

  5. There appears to most definitely be some tension between Ryan Kesler and the Vancouver Canuck organization.

Another suspension, perhaps? It's been a little quiet.

.. merely a trifling delay to an MT such as the King .. gives him a chance to let his "hole" heal a bit ..

  6. Congratulations to Anton Rodin, who doubled his goal total, to 2, a few nights ago against Peoria.

  7. 6 points in 7 games for Dennis Wideman. Anyone still laughing at Calgary for that one?

      @tearlock7

Could have got a nice one in Matta, but those genius's deciding trading down to grab Jankowski would be a smarter move.

      King of the ES

Smashian Kassian, who is inexplicably very high on the great Anton Rodin, is automatically writing off Mark Jankowski because he went a lot higher than where most scouts thought he should have gone. Nice job. The draft is not an exact science.

  8. That's 2 more points that this team really did not deserve. I'm sorry, but I'm seeing great weakness in the background of these Canucks. I am not sold.

Most of us aren't either, but we'll take 2 points over 1 or even 0.

      Insane, isn't it?

You need to stop watching hockey because you clearly don't get it.

The Oilers were lucky to get a point out of that game.

  9. Justin Schultz should not be this good, this quick. Truly special.

Why is this so surprising? Sure he's a rookie but he is 22 and a lot of guys from his draft year like Pietrangelo, Karlsson, Doughty, Myers, Carlson, Bogosian and Del Zotto have been in the NHL for quite a while. One already has a Norris and another a Cup and gold medal.

Schlitz was absent a lot ..

  10. Brendan Gallagher looks very promising. Add him to the long list of players in the Canucks' own backyard who's existence they are apparently totally unaware of. 147th overall? Good thing we managed to snap up Adam Polasek at the 145 spot. Unbelievable.

Monday morning quarterbacking with the benefit of hindsight....... nothing more to see here, folks. Just more of the same old, same old BS crap.

I love how you made this post on draft day saying the Canucks missed out on him.

  11. Wally Buono shows once again why is the GM of all GMs. Trades Reilly for help, allows Reilly the chance to thrive elsewhere, keeps Lulay happy. No distraction whatsoever. THAT is how it's done, Mr. Gillis.

I don't agree with the Lulay-Reilly/Luongo-Schneider comparison but I do feel compelled to defend the CFL from people who bad mouth it. The CFL is very good football. It's not NFL level but it shouldn't be dismissed as a league.

  13. Forgotten amidst all of the Kassian hype is the staunch reality that the Vancouver Canucks still have yet to win a regulation game. Anybody still confident in them being Cup contenders?

  15. James Reimer stopped 28 of 30 shots tonight for a big win in Pittsburgh. Most people forget how great he was in 2010-11 prior to getting concussed.
