  1. I'm with you on this. I'm in the minority, but I hate doing arm work, however, a minimal amount is necessary to ward of the dreaded DYEL syndrome.
  2. Alan Aaragon is okay, but he can't hold a candle to Layne Norton in terms of knowledge. Layne Norton's Vlog series on youtube is fantastic. He gives out so much fantastic information for free. His series about the metbolic damage and metabolic capacity is fantastic.
  3. How tall are you, what do you weight, and when was the last time you increased the weight of the dumbells you're incline pressing?
  4. Who chips a tooth my accidentally biting your fork too hard. Frak

  7. Yes this is true. My point is, worrying about your PWO shake instead of working hard in the gym and having a solid macronutrient breakdown in your nutrition is major in the minors so to speak. Most who lift, especially those new to it, would be far better of by focusing on the basics (working hard and a solid overall nutrition plan) before wankering over protein shakes this, pre-workouts that, etc.
  8. No, nutrient timing is vastly overrated. Overall consumption and having it spread out over several meals is far more important that getting your protein after you workout.
  9. Actually, protein timing is irrelevant. Just make sure you get enough and you're good.
  10. Looks like law school won't be working out. Frack. Need to find/create a career involving something I'm passionate to be successful because I struggle with mastering things I'm not passionate about. Not saying I don't get good at those things, I just struggle to take it to the next level of understanding if it's something I'm just meh about

In seriousness, I think I need to do something with strength/nutrition/fitness but I'm just not sure how...I've also considered writing fiction but again, not sure how I make that work

  11. Yes it should. My legs get crippling DOMS just reading about it.
  12. In case you forgot why GMMG didn't do much today, look at all the UFAs available next year...way better crop than this year http://capgeek.com/free-agents/?year_id=2014&team_id=-1&position_id=-1&fa_type_id=2

  13. The bike ride should help alleviate the DOMS actually...and if it's 24 hours after his workout, DOMS shouldn't be too bad yet. DOMS kills me 48 hours after leg day, not 24 hours after.
  14. David Booth's contract will look like a steal after all of the bad contracts handed out today.

Clarkson will be bought out after producing like a 3rd liner again next season, calling it now

Clowe is the really bad one, Horton too. Both are getting paid like 1st liners but are far from it.

All 3 are bad. Clowe is over the hill, Horton is made of glass, and Clarkson just isn't that good

  15. Better idea than trying to do it after biking the seawall.
  16. Ha. All I know is guys who have done cycles (of any AAS) suggest 10 years minimum of consistent training (so you know how to fix things when they don't go as planned without the only answer being 'up the dose'), and copious research about PCTs before doing a cycle. Then again, I live in the States where such things like AAS compounds are BAAAAAAD cause the gubment said so and therefore legit info about them is limited.
  17. Good luck. I hope you've done your research and have a decent base of training under your belt.
  18. It appears the Canucks are leaving 4C open for a prospect, the wings are pretty much set: Kass with the Sedins; Higgy and Burrows with Kes; Hansen and Booth with whomever is the 3C (would love those 2 with Shredder)

  19. My point is, the WODs are not nearly as effective at making you 'fit' as Glassman claims. If all you did were the WODs off the main site, you'd stay skinny and weak because it's really just a fancy way of doing conditioning. Also, if you are doing dedicated strength work outside of the WOD, you aren't really doing 'Crossfit' IMO, you're strength training and using the WODs as conditioning.
  20. I personally think 'crossfit' is stupid, but that's because Glassman doesn't know jack about programming and claims anyone who uses science to program their training is practicing witchcraft....and doing crossfit gets you mediocre at doing crossfit, that's it....and the people you see competing in the games don't do 'crossfit' per Glassman's definition because they use periodization and focused strength training in their prep for the games.
  21. Canucks may have some interest in Matt Cooke. I'd like to see him come back

I hate him, he's a cheap shot artist and has such a bad reputation. So NO thanks!

  22. Yesterday was 'squat day' for me which is basically my leg day. I always like getting the hardest and heaviest workout of the week out of way early. I'm going to try a new approach to my squat training so I'll be strong enough, and my technique will be improved enough to give 405 a ride sometime in December. Instead of doing my squatting and then doing assitancy stuff like leg pressing, hack squats, or single leg work, I'm going to squat, do a hamstring movement, and then squat again. The theory behind this is that to squat more, you simply have to squat MORE and nothing builds the squat like squatting. This could either work brilliantly or I'll be a cripple in 6 weeks.
  23. Fair enough. Looks like Canucks are going to roll a Boston/LA style top-6 in the future with Gaunce and Horvat.
  24. Similar to Guance but more offensive upside. Yes he and Gaunce had near mirror point production, but you have to remember Horvat is a year younger than Gaunce and just as productive.
