  1. What this tells me is that a Boeser trade is far from certain, especially if he ends up playing vs Philly.
  2. Not a given, especially if viewership goals keep coming up short. The NHL has been the biggest loser from the MLS slowly taking up a larger share of the pie in the States imo.
  3. We keep talking about moving cap like it’s an easy transaction in this league. With the cap ceiling being so stagnant, many teams in the league are in the same position Do we have a confirmation that Horvat would take no less than 8.5 with the Canucks? He’s already showed that he’s willing to lower his cap hit to stay in Vancouver (unlike Miller, who’s purely here for the $$$).
  4. The Canucks didn’t have the cap space to afford Horvat even if they agreed with his agent’s proposal. They just put a good PR spin to it.
  5. I’m looking at the disaster Jim Benning assembled and I’m wondering if many CDC posters could have done a better job.
  6. Di Giuseppe, Dries, Joshua, Garland, Aman, Lazar...can we officially admit these are dark times or do I still have to put my tinfoil hat on?
  7. Honestly, the Canucks are better off with me over Miller on a defensive end of a shift. I may not be as good as JT but at least I won’t randomly give up mid-play.
  8. At almost 33 years old, this is the version of Tyler Myers we’re probably going to get. And that’s not necessarily a bad thing; still think he’s the least of our problems.
  9. Is it even a secret that Allvin’s just there as JR’s fall guy in case fans start asking for heads from management? Is Allvin even involved in decision making? Seems JR’s in total control.
  10. Regardless of whether you rate Boldy or not, pretty risky signing imo. These are the kinds of decisions that sometimes end up backfiring on teams down the road.
  11. Allvin not being there IMO is indicative of his role on the team. If it's clear that JR's calling all the shots then what exactly is Allvin here to do? This entire management group needs to go.
  12. “We’re not moving towards a rebuild. I prefer the term retool.” That’s the only takeaway you really need from that press conference. Smh.
  13. 1. People are overlooking just how hard it is to find a top-pairing offensive defenseman. There’s a reason why it’s considered one of the most coveted player types in the league. 2. Bedard seemingly transitioning into the NHL is not a guarantee. There’s a few recent top offensive picks that can attest to that. And if he does, will he be good enough to justify trading Pettersson/Hughes + a first round pick for him? Jordan Eberle and Cody Hodgson were also a WJC phenoms. Would you build a team around them? 3. We need to stop placing more value on players because they’re from BC. When has that ever worked out for us?
  14. Still bummed we had a chance to take this kid and we didn’t go for it.
  15. It’d be amazing if Horvat with the season he’s having doesn’t make the all-star game.
  16. Lol I told you guys Bear was a product of the Oiler hype machine. The Canes found this out quickly and didn’t waste any time shipping his ass out of Carolina. Just sucks we were the team who bit.
  17. The funny part is the fact that any sensible GM will use this and his lack of effort to drive the price down from a first round pick. In other words, we’re stuck with him.
  18. Miller “leads” when the going is good then completely loses those qualities as soon as things go south. How people watch him play and think captain material is beyond me.
  19. What’s going on with Brock? I’m done waiting for him to turn it around. And it’s concerning that the guy we signed to a juicy extension this past offseason continues to be a passenger on his line. If it weren’t for Petey having a career year, this team would look worse than it already does.
  20. Since when is Hockey Canada known for being a good judge of character? At this rate, this team not getting themselves into legal trouble would be a win for Hockey Canada. It's that bad right now.
  21. Any fan who wants the best for the team should understand that things need to get worse before they get better. No more of this “anything can happen in the playoffs” to encourage bubble playoff mediocrity. The casuals won’t like it because it’ll mean that there’s going to be a lot of sucking, but the team finally needs to rebuild the right way.
