No, you would still complain. Also, with Martin leaking goals the way he has, deflated the team. OEL playing like he did at 25 would not have saved us. I still like the OEL trade. If we had an NHL goalie and a decent partner, his +/- would be decent. I think OEL has much more to give and I also think he has been one of the better defensive d-man. Nobody will agree because they hate his contract but whatever.

I think the situation is an indication of problems in the locker room but more importantly how the team has played and been coached. 1. How many soft goals have been let in by both goalies. 2. How many times have the Canucks been trapped in their zone for minutes because the forwards aren't doing their jobs at the point or elsewhere. 3. How many times has Myers been chasing the puck all over and throwing OEL out of position. 4. Who has heart on the Canucks besides Pettersson, Joshua, and Lockwood. Also, after a goalie lets in a goal how often do you see the Canucks collectively give up and die. Especially when they have a multi-goal lead. The list goes on...

True, our D is not very good but how many of the goals against were savable by any NHL calibre goalie. A lot of weak goals let in by our grade AHL goalies. Also, who were they taking cap from? 3 mil each for some guys that could play D is not a bad thing. Plus we were a loser team that nobody wanted to come to. you have to overpay.
