  1. They traded in Hamonic for Dermott, basically - clearing another $1.5 in cap and getting 6 years younger. Nice job.
  2. That' one thing I never considered. During Benning's regime, they targeted nice players with good character. Nothing wrong with that really, but maybe they need a bit of snarl and attitude, young players willing to do whatever it takes to win. I'm not sure how good Foote is and will be, but he's got size and is a high end prospect, who wants to play. He'd get an opportunity, lots of ice time playing with Quinn fricken Hughes. I think he'd like that.
  3. I think they may have been waiting on Hamonic to TOR, but when TOR went with Gio, that left the OTT deal open. I'm happy, cleared some cap to do other things, and the Canucks have another pick, which is weird. Benning just gave them away.
  4. Pro move I'm not sure Hamonic wanted to be in VAN anyway. They managed to dump his salary and get a decent pick back.
  5. So, is Gio playing goal? because they still haven't solved their issue Please for the love of all things good, trade Halak to TOR
  6. TOR needs goaltending Halak for Dermott, or else enjoy losing in 4 straight (not that Halak would particularly help them out with that)
  7. Okay, I resent BOS for what happened 11 years ago, but my dislike of the Leafs goes back decades. I wouldn't mind seeing VAN and BOS pull off a huge trade, sending them Garland and Motte and Myers, and then watch them dominate their divisional rivals (Leafs) for the foreseeable future.
  8. Dermott is a 3rd pairing left shot D - not the highest priority by any means. Too bad TOR didn't have better prospects/young players, hey Elliotte?
  9. If they beat BUF tonight, should that change things? I don't think so, this team isn't good enough. I find it interesting that JR and Allvin are going to wait and see how the game play out and then decide tomorrow. Maybe they should decide today, because nothing going to change by tomorrow. Tear it down, keep Miller if they must but only if he re-signs for $8 and no more than 5 years. If he wants to moon, then say goodbye in the off season. They got to make trades tomorrow, and more than Motte.
  10. Sorry about your neighbours at the game, but this was Gold
  11. I thought Cammi Granato looked well rested and fresh, really together. This is concerning. Shouldn't she be exhausted working 18 hour days, looking all haggard? She doesn't look like she's working hard enough.
  12. Hate to say it, but it might be a good idea to trade Miller at the TDL. Giving another team 2 playoff tries with him, at his current salary, would be very tempting and the offer could be huge. Heart and soul, okay sure, but I didn't see any of that tonight. Build around Petey and Hughes, not around Miller.
  13. Rebuild around the 23-year old and unders (also including Demko) Pettersson Hoglander Podkolzin Hughes Prospects: Rathbone, Lockwood, Klimovich, Woo, McDonough, Karlsson
  14. I don't think it's lack of effort. The Canucks just aren't good enough, they never were. This belief that they're a playoff team and "you never know!" has to stop. Build the damned thing right for once. Sell. Draft. Develop.
  15. I think Halak starts the 3rd. Looked like he was told by Boudreau on the bench at the end of the 2nd, and his expression was "Why!?". Shook his head and walked to the tunnel. Maybe they want to re-start Demko tomorrow, give him a bit of rest. Canucks ae out of this one.
  16. I wonder if VAN management is looking at it like: ANA is selling, so they're bowing out, which means we have a good chance!!! Oh my gosh, Mr. Aquafina is going to be so happy with playoff revenue. Forget about selling, we need more guys for our magical run!
