  1. Gotta say, I was really impressed with the Devils' young forwards, how fast they are. Would be great to get a Sharangovich or Bastian, plus a Dman like Smith in a trade with NJ.
  2. DET - Zero, nada, zilch VAN - 5 glorious goals Cap'n Bo
  3. Trading Myers, Boeser and Motte will clear around $15 in cap space. Maybe they bring in a couple of young (cheaper) Dmen (e.g. Smith, Marino, etc) Re-sign Miller, that's fine, he's probably got a few good years left, buying time until Petey and the younger guys enter their prime.
  4. a coke addict? well, he looks like one anyway, those big buggy eyes full of wonderment, does he blink?
  5. If the Canucks re-sign Miller, he could very well be a 3rd line C at some point. A very expensive 3rd line C. I guess that's always a risk when signing a 30-year old player to big bucks - if that's the route they go.
  6. As long as the Canucks ice: Miller Pettersson Horvat Podkolzin Hoglander Lammikko Highmore Hughes Schenn Demko ...they'll be alright. Trade Boeser. Garland, Motte and Myers, give the players above team mates they can win with. Make the future bright again.
  7. Hughes: 0.86 pts a game (+8) Liljegren: 0.36 (+7) Hunt: 0.34 (-2) Hamonic: 0.33 (+3) Ekman-Larsson: 0.30 (0) Schenn: 0.25 (+9) Myers: 0.23 (+13) Forget for a second he's a Leaf. Liljegren isn't that bad.
  8. I think if Garland is going to any of those teams, a good young D+ needs to be coming back TOR - Liljegren CBJ - Bean PIT - Marino NJ - Smith BOS - no one other than Carlo
  9. Petey could be out a little while, and I would think a loss tonight convinces them to make changes. Let's hope Miller and Demko are up for getting the team a win. Without them giving 100%, the Canucks aren't very good.
  10. I really hope the Canucks pass on Byram then. He's a lefty anyway. There are a lot of good young RDs out there they could be targeting.
  11. Shouldn't the league be trying to get rid of this trash?
  12. I'd do Motte and Rathbone for Byram, but that's about it. It's just way too risky.
  13. With COL loading up, maybe VAN's players become more desirable by other contending teams the closer we get to the TDL. VAN might receive some big offers over the weekend. If the Canucks lose to the Devils (again) tomorrow, Allvin and JR might start thinking about next year. I hope so, because even if they make the playoffs, they're missing pieces to really contend. I'd rather they take a step back, sell at the TDL, Draft well, sign the right UFAs in the summer and have a great training camp with Bruce. A full season with Boudreau as coach could make a big difference.
  14. just my thoughts Garland and Poolman to NJ for (RD) Damon Severson Boeser to LA for (LW/RW) Adrian Kempe and (C) Gabriel Vilardi Motte to NYR for (RW) Vitali Kravtsov and pick Halak and Hamonic to TOR for (RD) Timothy Liljegren - TOR needs D and goaltending, and I believe they have cap space Miller - Pettersson - Podkolzin Kempe - Horvat - Kravtsov Pearson - Vilardi - Hoglander Highmore - Lammikko - Dickinson (maybe they can get him going) Ekman-Larsson - Severson Hughes - Schenn Rathbone - Myers Liljegren
  15. I agree with your selection of Canucks to be traded Wouldn't mind Severson, but not sold on the rest
  16. I'm thinking this too. LA have a few RD prospects (Clarke, Grans, Durzi) and a lot of C prospects (Kupari, Vilardi, Byfield, Turcotte, etc)
  17. I wonder what the suspension would be if it was Tyler Myers doing that to Matthews? More than 2 games, that's for sure.
  18. Vicious attack that could've been really bad, could've ended a superstars career. Inexcusable to go for the neck/head area. I don't care how much of a star he is, he should be gone for 20 games. Set an example ffs.
  19. Could be good, a bit of nasty on D, Canucks could use that
  20. Some tough games left, and if Pettersson misses games, I'm not feeling overly optimistic about playoffs. Miller turns 29 today, so, one more year until he hits the Big 30. Should they give him a 5-6 year extension after that? Or should they trade him now for a D partner for Hughes, a Grade A prospect and a 1st round pick?
  21. After watching that 1st period, it was obvious the Canucks were outplayed and lucky it was only 2-0. They played better the rest of the way, but they lost. Would've been a good night to make up points with Vegas and Anaheim losing. Still a lot of issues with Benning's team, but they believe in that D I guess. Devils next? The team VAN can't beat? Good times.
  22. 3 pts from a wildcard spot and a game in hand (VGK) 5 (home) games left until the TDL TB - Us vs them, and the refs NJ - Time to break the streak DET CGY BUF Possible they catch Vegas and Dallas (and grab a Wildcard spot) if they win 4/5 Would love to see Miller stick it to his old team with a couple of goals and a victory
