  1. It was a good game, Abby looked real good, especially their PP. Martin with the shutout, the Marlies weren't going to win this game. Seeing as it was in TOR, the Leafs scouts may have been watching Spencer, he was very good with whatever he faced.
  2. Abby Canucks at Marlies on TSN2 right now, in the 2nd

    1. Captain Canuck #12

      Captain Canuck #12

That's exactly when I found out about this game too.  Why was is not better advertised that they would be playing on TSN??

  3. Brock Boeser #6 John Marino #6 Coincidence? I can kind of see a switcheroo between the two #6s
  4. The same as Boeser and Pettersson? But he's much better Edit - I thought $9 x 5 years would be what he receives. Would still be the 4th highest contract if he played for the Leafs. So, it's not terrible for the Canucks to give their best player $9. His age though, is my concern. How long can he sustain this level of excellence?
  5. Way too risky IMO, VAN would be doing COL a favour
  6. Sounds like the return will need to include a good, young D. My guess, with OEL and Hughes taking up the top two LD spots, they'll be looking for a RD for Quinn. * my preference: (RD) Justin Barron - COL (RD) Andrew Peeke - CBJ (LD/RD) Jake Bean - CBJ (RD) Sean Durzi - LA (RD) Brandt Clarke - LA (highly doubtful) * (RD) Helge Grans - LA (LD/RD) Ty Smith - NJ (RD) Braden Schneider - NYR (highly doubtful) * (RD) Nils Lundkvist - NYR * (RD) John Marino - PIT (highly doubtful) * (RD) Timothy Liljegren - TOR * (LD/RD) Travis Dermott - TOR (LD/RD) Rasmus Sandin - TOR Other LDs they could target, if Quinn plays the right side (LD) Bowen Byram - COL (LD) Carson Lambos - MIN (LD) Shakir Mulkhamadullin - NJ (LD) K'Andre Miller - NYR (LD) Pierre-Olivier Joseph - PIT (LD) Martin Fehervary - WAS
  7. Kapanen does fit the mould of what they're looking for. Young-ish (25), skilled and fast. He's also much cheaper than Boeser. He'd probably produce pretty well on Miller's wing. Garland - Miller - Kapanen Hoglander - Pettersson - Podkolzin Pearson - Horvat - Chiasson Highmore - Lammikko - Motte Dickinson
  8. It's sounding like any Boeser trade will need to have a good, young Dman coming back. So, I would think that if they traded with PIT, Marino would have to come back? Or maybe it's (LD) Pierre-Olivier Joseph. possibly Kapanen and POJ for Boeser
  9. Benning may have tried, but he failed to bring in another Russian player. Who knows why. Maybe he changed his mind? Maybe other GMs didn't want to do a deal with him?
  10. With Brock set to receive $7.5 (his QA), could this actually lessen the return? Another team picking him up has to pay his hefty salary. Is it possible the Canucks don't get as much as we're hoping in a Boeser trade? to NJ for Zacha and Bahl ?? seems underwhelming
  11. Could be some teams wishing they had traded for JT when they get knocked out. Then, in the off season, they'll make sure not to make that mistake again and do what is necessary to get him I'm not sure Miller will be available next TDL, unless they plan to trade him. He could be re-signed in the off season as well. Big decisions for the new management.
  12. Too old for what the Canucks want to do. He'll go to EDM or TOR, and will not win a Cup.
  13. 2 playoff runs are worth a lot more than just 1, so I agree Miller is worth a lot right now with how he's playing and that sweet contract. But I assume the only way he's traded at this TDL is if the Canucks get an offer they can't refuse. A package that includes a young stud D, a top 6 forward prospect/young player and a 1st. Not sure teams are willing to cough that up.
  14. Motte? or is this just a reward for Rempal, spend some time with the big team. Did they send di Giuseppe back down?
  15. DET is building, Yzerman knows what's going on and sees the value in Olli
  16. They'll re-sign Miller. Trading him will be like ripping the heart out of the team, it would destroy the room. It wouldn't matter what player or how many picks and prospects would be coming back. They wouldn't be able to replace what Miller brings. Yes, he is getting older (like all of us), but he's probably got at least 5 really good years left. Canucks might even get to the Show again in that span with him. IMO they should be trading Boeser and Garland +, to get a couple of good youngish Ds.
  17. Brock is alright, but I can't see how the Canucks pay him $7+ Maybe he accepts $6.5 for 3 years? (as a show us more deal) I think he likes playing in VAN, but then if they re-sign him, others have to go, like maybe Garland or Myers. I think they need to get more aggressive and faster
  18. I'm wondering which team - TOR or EDM - who will make a trade with MTL to get Price? These are desperate times.
  19. I guess the Oilers never heard of building from the net out, and they refuse to really address this. Add a forward (Kane) that'll fix it! keep up the good work EDM I'm eventually expecting a massive blockbuster trade between EDM and NYR, with Connor headed for the Big Apple. Maybe it won't happen this year, but eventually. Just a wild guess: for Panarin and two 1sts
  20. Yeah, watching CGY vs COL last night, it's a whole other level of difficulty once playoffs begin. Canucks have a good team, but they need some upgrades on D. Maybe they trade Boeser for a Dman and actually make a playoff push? Leafs aren't doing anything this year without goaltending. Same with EDM.
  21. Boeser's pass out front to Matthews was horrendous. Terrible decision, he had a guy behind the net he could've passed it to or shot it around the boards. That's Hockey 101 - Never pass the puck in front of your goalie. Matthews celebrating in the Leafs huddle, says "Nice pass" jokingly. Luckily, Marner's soccer kick also assisted on Chiasson's goal. Miller is going nowhere this season. Maybe Boeser, Motte and Halak, though
