  1. For all we know PIT might be open to a Boeser for Marino straight up trade, but that's a bad deal for VAN. Maybe PIT doesn't even become a trading partner. Poolman and Rathbone for Marino sounds fair
  2. I find it interesting that Benning and Green were fired and JR hired over 3 months ago, and the roster is the exact same. JR is apparently known for making a lot of trades. He said back then they would have the team assessed by the end of January, and they wanted to clear cap, and get younger and faster. But here we are in mid-March and things have changed drastically. VAN has actually clawed their way back and are now in the hunt for a playoff spot. I'm starting to think that the only players in play for a trade at the TDL are the UFAs: Motte, Chiasson, Hunt and Halak They'll want to see how this season plays out, and then I believe they'll make some blockbusters in the summer.
  3. So many unknowns. IMO keep: Miller - Pettersson - Podkolzin ?? - Horvat - ?? ?? - ?? - ?? Highmore - Lammikko - ?? Hughes - ?? OEL - ?? ?? - Schenn Burroughs Demko ?? (Martin?) Leaving Boeser, Garland, Hoglander, Pearson, Motte, Dickinson, Myers, Hamonic, Poolman and Halak to trade for improvements, prospects and picks.
  4. An NHL executive? That's pretty vague, and who outside of the Canucks has anything to say about what JT wants to do?
  5. Whatever the "experts" predict, it rarely seems to happen. So, maybe Marino isn't the D coming to VAN? Or possibly it'll be an off season move. What other good, young Ds are out there? That's who VAN is probably getting.
  6. I watched Marino play the other night, and he's a solid, smart defender, has some decent size. I think he'd be great with Hughes. Schneider would've been nice, but NYR aren't letting him go. Or who knows, maybe after the Rangers are ousted in Round 1 and they trade Schneider + for Miller in the off season. D is the biggest concern for the Canucks, and Marino would be a great start.
  7. Not sure PIT wants Garland, I believe they want Boeser I'd possibly do: Boeser and Poolman Marino, Kapanen and Poulin
  8. This is what I like, the improvement each season: 2017/18 - 0.16 pts a game 2018/19 - 0.29 2019/20 - 0.81 2020/21 - 0.91 2021/22 - 1.52
  9. Team mate of JT for a season and a half in Tampa
  10. I thought it was pretty amazing that Miller asked that Boudreau stay out of the room during the 2nd intermission, so he could talk to the team himself. They came out and scored 3 unanswered goals to take the lead Captain material, worth whatever they pay him Myers penalty was ridiculous, a clean hit. Yet, they called it an illegal hit to the head. Shouldn't Kuznetsov have had to go to the quiet room to get assessed? He was out to start the PP and ended up scoring the tying goal. Just glad Ovie didn't score. Watching them play bigger, tougher competition, I think Garland and Hoglander could both be traded.
  11. So.....Garland for Zacha and Bahl? Canucks need to get bigger Could've been Eddie Shack
  12. well, if you think the refs favoured Washington, wait until Tampa comes to town. TB - 5 VAN - 2
  13. I'll take Obscure Hockey Players for a million Alex He was the first signing by Patrik Allvin, General Manager of the Vancouver Canucks Who is "Arsedeep Pains" Oh so close... Congrats Arshdeep!
  14. Boudreau said "(Miller) has taken over as the catalyst and leader..." I think Bo's days might be numbered
  15. A new day, and today I feel the Canucks should maybe keep Boeser (if he signs under $7). He had jump in the MTL game, he had chances, he scored. I'd hate to trade him to another team only to watch him have success. He's also only 25,and who knows how good of a goal scorer he'll be in 3-4 years. I'm now wondering if they should trade Horvat and Garland for Ds and prospects/picks. Bo just seems to lack emotion, and he's the captain. This is a bit of a problem I think. The captain should be the team's leader, but they're all following JT. Heck, I think Bo's even following JT.
  16. The way JT is playing and how huge he is to the success of the team, there isn't another team able to offer enough for him. The Canucks will re-sign Miller.
  17. Canucks are looking for a good, young RD that can develop and play with Hughes for years. As much as I like Schenn, he won't be with the team after next season. Hughes needs a consistent D partner for the next 8+ years, and Marino looks like a good option. I much prefer that than taking the risk of trading for Byram. I wouldn't mind Liljegren, but don't want to see Brock in a Leafs jersey. Rangers aren't trading Schneider and they might not even want Boeser. Marino seems the most ready to go RD to be paired with Quinn, he's at the right age and has the right toolbox of skill/ability. The "Hughes - Marino" pairing could be very good one day.
  18. Never bothered to pay attention, because Marino and Rodrigues have been very good for PIT. to PIT - #23 (2015) to VAN - #154 (2015) and an Undrafted 28-year old player Doesn't really seem fair does it? Where the players were drafted shouldn't matter a whole lot, but this seems very lopsided
  19. If TOR traded Marner for a goaltender and a Dman, they might actually do something, but they won't.
  20. Kapanen would be good as well, but Rodrigues wouldn't be terrible either. Kapanen's point totals have been decreasing over the last 4 years. Isn't Rodrigues a pretty fast player? Undrafted too. The deal would most definitely be Boeser for Marino (who PIT really likes), and Rodrigues would be the "sweetener". Miller - Pettersson - Podkolzin Hoglander - Horvat - Garland Pearson - Rodrigues - ?? Ekman-Larsson - Myers Hughes - Marino I'm curious what they're going to do with Schenn. I hope they keep him, unless they can get a 1st+ for him.
  21. Looking at this standings, it's good to see the Canucks have 2 games in hand on the Ducks and the rest of the division basically caught up in games played. Canucks are in a good spot, need to win a lot of games, but with stellar goaltending, anything is possible.
  22. Bringing in Marino and Rodrigues would be a good move, real good. If Allvin can get both for Brock, he's off to a great start
