  1. A boycott of a host is different than banning a visiting country from participating, no?
  2. Yep, he carved up the Jays once or twice last year if I remember correctly.
  3. Does Demko in the second round count ?
  4. 53 year old former player Shawn Kemp booked for a drive-by shooting. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/35815581/ex-nba-star-shawn-kemp-booked-felony-drive-shooting-charge?platform=amp Former NBA star Shawn Kemp was arrested Wednesday and booked in a Pierce County (Washington) jail in connection with a drive-by shooting. Tacoma police said an altercation between occupants of two vehicles near the Tacoma Mall led to shots beings fired early Wednesday afternoon. No injuries were reported, and one of the cars fled the scene, according to a release from the police department on social media. A gun was recovered, and an investigation is ongoing. Online records for Pierce County show that Kemp, 53, was booked on a felony drive-by-shooting charge at 5:58 p.m. local time, about four hours after the incident. Kemp was a six-time NBA All-Star who played 14 seasons in the league, including eight with the Seattle SuperSonics, who selected him 17th overall in the 1989 draft.
  5. I'm not gonna worry about this one at all until at least June. We've seen lots of players have great spring trainings that go on to have terrible seasons and vice versa.
  6. I’m almost more impressed at how fast the assailant was able to get his second shoe off and released. He looks like Derek Jeter turning a double play.
  7. If you overlook the war crimes, you can really see that W had (and probably still has) catlike shoe-dodging reflexes.
  8. People on Twitter were saying that his fastball looked great even compared to other guys throwing in the high 90's. I definitely want to catch his next outing. Has anybody seen Nate Pearson throw yet? I've read he's looked good but who knows. I still have hope for him as a bullpen arm.
  9. I didn’t watch but Twitter was very positive about him. These numbers look encouraging.
  10. They've currently got about $475K in cap space. Carter has a full NMC so I think he'd be an unlikely piece. Blueger, McGinn, or Pettersson seem like the more likely pieces to move. Edit: read the cap space wrong, they've actually got more like $2.1M.
  11. https://www.eliteprospects.com/player/617949/josh-bloom His 2022-23 stats in the picture were current at the time of the trade. I’ll update periodically. As of March 26: GP-49 G-25 A-30 P-55
  12. Hugeeee difference. Getting to level 35-40 unlocked most of the superstar and zone abilities so it helped, but it wasn't until level 50 that it really levelled out. I play on PS4. Are you PS or XBox?
  13. Well I didn’t mean to physically seize the reproductive organs but if we could monopolize the sperm and eggs that would be sweet.
  14. If we’re thinking that long term, maybe we can crowdfund a couple nice bottles of wine and a romantic weekend away for the Hughes’ parents. Maybe throw Mr and Mrs Staal in there too.
  15. I play mostly 3’s and occasionally 6’s. Starting my club before levelling up was a mistake. The club is just my brother and I, we were getting worked when we were <level 35 or so. Got my 700th goal tonight so it’s been better since!
  16. When Feaster and the Flames picked Jankowski 21st overall back in 2012, Feaster boldly predicted that in ten years Janko would be considered the best player in the draft.
  17. I think compensation was taken away a few years ago. If I remember the correctly, the Blackhawks drafted Kevin Hayes and ended up with a compensation pick when he signed with the Rags. That’s the last one I can remember off the top of my head (could be misremembering that too).
  18. I was going to say I'm pretty sure a player has to be on the AHL roster at the trade deadline in order to be eligible for the playoffs, but now I'm thinking of CHL players joining late despite not being on the roster at the TDL. I assume the difference is that the CHL and NCAA guys who are joining late, are doing it on AHL contracts? Players on an NHL SPC must be on the AHL roster at the deadline to play in the playoffs, that's what I'm thinking. Kuzmenko's an interesting one. I think he might already be waiver eligible because he signed his ELC at such an advanced age, so the threshold for him was much lower. Possibly as little as like 40 games?
  19. If I remember correctly, Fox never made it a secret that he wanted to sign with the Rangers.
