  1. Yup yup, the most flawless of Finns (sorry Sami).
  2. I know it's easy for me to say, but don't let fear hold you back! It is never to late for an education. I talked my bf into going back to school after a layoff of about 7 years or so; he had been flunking or just skating by previously. Once he got back into it he realized he was more than capable, and he's excelled ever since. All he had to do is take the first step. And that's all you need to do too. Besides, what's the worst that could happen? If you already don't have the degree it can't get much "worse" than that. But it can get much better, if you just try!
  3. Do HUT pack codes on NHL 16 expire?

I won a HUT pack code from the Canucks a few months back…forget about it 'til I went through my twitter DMs today. I don't even own the game…maybe I'll donate it to a worthy a CDCer…if it still works?

I play HUT all the time if you are willing to donate it. :)

  7. What's your favorite CDC forum? I like the Creative Media Forum. White Noise is a close second.

CT and the trades are my favs....Proposals is the trash bin for me.

Proposals is the worst to me. Not because I necessarily think the ideas are bad, but I don't see too much point in speculating when we can just wait and see what happens.

  8. I love a Finn! Welcome, Olli! Look forward to seeing him grow into his frame more.
  9. Honest question: What's the point of watching the Draft (viewing parties, etc.). Why not just read all the results later in a concise fashion?

You can say that for anything. Like, why are the games televised if we can just see the results. :P

But at least games provide action. The draft is just listening to names and watching teenagers put on jerseys.  Reminds me of graduation: fun if you're a participant, a big bore if your a spectator.

Agree to disagree I guess. To each their own. I quite enjoy it.

  10. Used up all my likes on Henrik Sedin posts. I ain't even mad.

  11. I just finished reading Born on a Blue Day by Daniel Tammet, an autobiography written by a man with Asperger's that has savant syndrome. He can do complex math calculations quickly in his mind, can recite pi to over 22K decimal places, and can learn a new language within one week. Fascinating man, and a great read. I just started rereading my favorite book: The Things the Carried by Tim O'Brien. It's a fiction novel based loosely on the author's time fighting for the US in the Vietnam war. It's chapters read more like short stories (the story lines are interconnected, but can easily stand on their on). Highly recommend!
  12. So there's a guy named "Steele Johnson" in the diving competition I'm watching

  14. Perhaps I should rephrase. Granny's style of play is as a setup guy- he's not going to be the high scoring forward that everyone projects Shinkaruk to be. I can only hope he'll develop along the lines of Mikael. The in-team competition should be great this summer; I'm excited to see the guys put in some work!
  15. Ran out of likes but YES! I think people give Shinky the benefit of the doubt since goal scoring is sooo needed on this team, and the results he has the potential to produce are readily apparent. Granny is a playmaker, not a scorer, and his skill set is underappreciated/not obvious if he doesn't have competent wingers to pass to.
  16. Surely he jests People sure like trashing Granny; he was barely there for a blip last season. Give the boy a chance. Wrong thread, but I wouldn't call Pedan a career AHLer either. He's got chops, but is just too low on the Canucks depth chart. I'm sure Edmonton would be happy to have him. Vey I'll reserve judgement for until his family issues calm down. Baer is meant for the big club.
