  1. Edit: Dhaliwal deleted his original tweet and made a new one :
  2. 3rd period time. Let’s gooooo Giants!
  3. It’s also in Star Wars: The Last Jedi when Rey is fighting in the throne room against all the guards.
  4. I can see it playing out this way as well. Zegras is a beauty set up guy (see his assist to York in the bronze medal game earlier today). Would love him on the left wing with petey and brock
  5. my bracket's 4 for 8 after round 1... need the isles and blues to win their series to have any hope of success

  6. I really hope some GM’s (looking at edm, Ana, maybe buff) go real f the board so we can grab another faller like Quinn Hughes last year
  7. Will probably be gone: Hughes, Kakko, Cozens, Dach, Byram Who we could take: boldy, caufiled, zegras, soderstrom, krebs, turcotte, podkolzin Possible off the board picks: Newhook, Kaliyev, Broberg, lavoie, york Basically its wide open. but I'm going to guess one of Boldy, Caufield or Krebs. Likely one of them will be available and will most likely be BPA at our pick. Out of those three, I personally rank them Caufield -> Boldy -> Krebs but that's pure preference and i can see arguments for any of them being BPA
  8. Doubt they will. I honestly think they will put a lot of stock into a guy who they think can make the team out of camp next season. Edmonton wants a quick turnaround. Cozens, dach, krebs, etc.
  9. I definitely wouldn’t be surprised. He has a lot of media support here in Edmonton and many believe that bringing in someone new will add another year to the timeline before their good again. I personally would love Fretzky to stay because it’ll keep the oilers trapped in their boys club mentality and make it harder for them to be less mediocre !
  10. Edm needs everything. They only have 3 forwards in the team and no high end guys in the system. Puljujarvi, Yamamoto, etc. Are all underperforming and stalled in development. Can’t depend on any of them to develop. Plus they’re going to be bringing in a new GM by next month apparently, so I’d say they’re pretty unpredicatable who they will draft. Bouchard has been lights out in 2019 so I think they’re more focused on high end forwards with him in the system
  11. I’m so high in caufield man. Admittedly I have not seen everyone in the top 15 so I’m extremely bias, but watching this guy take over in the Offensive zone is incredible. He’s so good at getting open and getting his shot away and skating through the zone. I think he’d be lethal in the bumper spot on the PP. plus I bet he’s one and done in college so probably hit the NHL in 2020-2021, very early for a #10 oa. Yeah there’s other good players as well but caufield has the highest offensive ceiling out of all of them imo. Only hughes and Kakko are higher for offense imo.
  12. all those forward prospect are far from a sure thing. their Defense pool is arguably better with Bouchard, Bear and Jones as well as Klefbom and Nurse already on the roster and still young. The weakest area in their organization is on the wing. I'd be very surprised if they passed on one of boldy, zegras, dach, podkolzin, or caufield. all of these guys could be in their top 6 soon.
  13. Imo, JB should take whichever American is left (probably one of Zegras, Boldy, or caufield. Doubt turcotte falls that far). If worse case scenario happens and they’re ALL gone, then one of cozens or dach has to be available (assuming Byram is gone; pretty safe assumption). So basically worse case scenario is cozens or dach. Canucks can’t really lose this draft. JB should be very cautious about trading this pick
  14. Could also be that he’s seen draft rankings and knows he’s going to picked around the Canucks spot, so he’s just browsing some Canuck stuff online to get an idea of where he’s going
  15. I'm convinced Krebs will be a faller this year. I know he played on a bad team, but very poor statistics this year. He's looked decent at U18's but not nearly as good as the USA big 5. I see a lot of rankings with him in the top 10, but I see him being this year's Veleno. don't think he'll drop to 30 but I can see him dropping past 15, especially if teams in the 8-14 range decide put any emphasis on centre or D prospects
  16. Is this just current nhlers? Cause I’m positive burrows played like 130 games in the echl before playing in the NHL
  17. As a Canucks fan living in Edmonton, I must say that every time the oilers lose I get really smug and happy for the rest f the day. Great season, boys!
  18. Been seeing a lot of people wanting to JB to re-sign marky as soon as this summer after his MVP season. Looming back at this thread though, a lot of cautious posters who said 1 year isn’t a big enough sample size. Imo, Canucks are best to wait until at least part way through next season and make sure they know what they have before signing marky, even if it means paying more
  19. If the Canucks some how manage to get Byram then they should trade joulevi for a forward. Package him with whatever else you need to to get a winger for bo
  20. Given Canucks injury history, having Pearson who can play lw for gaudette and move up to horvats line if needed is actually pretty valuable. Plus, his contract ends at the same time as petterssons elc, so it doesn’t handcuff the team at all. Could see hime potting 35-40 points next year and maybe help elevate gaudette/virtanen
  21. I wouldn’t be surprised if we trade him to a team looking to reach the cap floor. He’s only owed 9 million dollars over the next 3 years after July 1st this year. but it terms of buy out, i’d be very surprised. The buyout period ends in June 30th, meaning they can’t pay his bonus and then buy him out. It has to be the other way around or wait until next off season (2020). So buying him out saves very little cap space. I attached a screen grab from cap friendly showing how much it will cost the Canucks on their cap for the next 6 years to buy him out
  22. Thinking teves probably will slot in the next 3 games at least, considering Hughes is out for the next week and brisbois can’t Seem to crack 10 minutes when he’s in the line up. Probably worth sending breezer down to Utica again and letting teves get some games. Leave pouliot and Schenn as the spairs and then when hughes is ready to go re asses
  23. Switch around sutter and Eriksson and I’m in. Eriksson is buyout proof; his salary his mostly paid as a bonus on July 1st every year. Even if you buy him out that bonus still counts against the salary cap, so you still have almost 6 million against the cap every year plus 600k for three years after his contract ends. No reason to buy him out if his cap hit is still hurting us. Sutter on the other hand can be traded (not for much admittedly) and the Canucks still save a bunch of money getting rid of him
  24. Can’t speak to Calgary or Montreal or Toronto or Ottawa but here in Edmonton media is very positive. Look at the Edmonton journal, CHED radio, or any major personalities on twitter. Very pro oilers and always talking about how they’ve gotten robbed by reffing or coaches challenges or posts or macdavid being hooked with no call or some other excuse. The most critical media member here is probably mark spectre with sportsnet and he’s more of a flip flopper; constantly changing his opinion of players, coaching, and management almost daily based on very little actual change with the team. But guys like jim Matheson, Bob Stauffer, or jack Michaels are constantly pumping the oilers tires; and they’re probably the three loudest voices of the media
