  1. Like the idea behind this one. Shattenkirk would be an upgrade and has one less year so Canucks would have to add a sweetener. Goldobin enough? Or something better required?
  2. I think Hutton could have been an option going the other way
  3. Was hoping the Canucks would target niskanen. I knew he’d be cheap but didn’t realize he would be this cheap
  4. Retain a lot of money on Tanev and maybe throw something else of low value that TO could use in (Biega? 4th rounder? Another corcone level guy?) and I think it’s pretty fair.
  5. Add 10th overall, drop Hutton, Patrick, and 40th overall, and it’s pretty close
  6. Probably want to avoid another situation similar to the dipietro vs SAN Jose fiasco from earlier this season. On top of that, probably want to avoid having a goalie tandem similar to leighton/kulbakov in Utica this season. Imagine this means one of dipietro or kielly will start the season in Kalamazoo as the starter, which imo is a good thing
  7. Perry for Eriksson is a good trade. You can’t convince me otherwise. 1 year less is massive for the Canucks. Perry expires the same year as pettersson and hughes
  8. Last year’s top 6 for the first game of the season was Edler, Tanev, Del Zotto, Stetcher, Pouliot, Gudbransen. That’s three D different than what I posted. But my point was that doing nothing is doing better than what OP suggested. That doesn’t mean doing nothing is good, but simply that it’s not as bad. I definitely think the Canucks need at least one new face
  9. Only the southside! I’m a VIU alumni so I’m somewhat familiar with which areas to avoid. In Edmonton, junkies are almost everywhere, even in the more expensive neighbourhoods. You have to go to the city outskirts before things start looking better
  10. Very happy to say that I will be moving from Edmonton to Nanaimo in 2 weeks. Should I see if Puljujarvi needs a ride?
  11. I’d rather roll a top 6 of Edler, Tanev, Hughes, Stetcher, Hutton, Biega compared to what is suggested as the final roster by op. At least with the top 6 we have all guys can skate well, and most of them can move the puck
  12. 13. Yeah I’m gonna have to disagree here. Boeser is better. But I guess comparing a scoring rw to a point producing dman is apples and oranges
  14. Ppg numbers at age 20 in the AHL is extremely good and serves as a good predictor that he can become a scorer in the NHL. His number this year are similar if not better than Virtanen’s numbers in 2017-18. Not sure how his line mates are better when he was buried in the fourth line the whole year. Playing with Lowry and copp and Tanev is better than Jake playing along side bo and the sedins for part of his D+4 season? I understand Jake doesn’t get a ton of ice time either but he’s got more opportunity than roslovic but Roslovic as still out performed him offensively. You’re either missing the point on Roslovic or you’re over estimating Virtanen’s impact. I said he’s outscored (in points) Virtanen at every level. I get that USHL and CHL numbers are hard to compare but he still had a much high point per game pace in his draft year compared to Jake. Jake was taken high because it looked like his game could translate well, but there were mock drafts at the time that had Jake way lower and mock drafts that had Roslovic higher in 2015. Looking at draft position means very little imo
  15. Zucker and Dumba for Boeser and Eriksson otherwise no deal. Even then, i don’t think I’d do it. Giving up the best player in a trade rarely works out
  16. Good point about the concussion history. That said, I’d rather keep him and hope he pans out than sell low on him. If he ends up retiring or not being able to play than it’s a tough loss but worth the gamble imo. When healthy, he consistently produces at over 0.5 ppg while playing well in all three zones, which is top 6 production on most teams in the NHL, or really good 3rd line numbers. Keep him. Canucks only have the assets for one big trade this offseason. Not everyone has to go
  17. Not sure why you would trade baertschi plus other assets for a top 9 scoring winger? Baer is already a top 9 scoring winger. In general, I’d rather keep madden and rathbone. They won’t start they’re entry level contracts for a couple years. After pettersson and boeser and Hughes are all signed, the Canucks will be relying on ELC’s to fill holes in their roster. If Benning believes there’s any chance at all that either of those guys can ba NHLers he should hold on to them. Fourth lines on cap-limit teams are filled with contracts that are under 1 million. If these players are homegrown, even better
  18. 1) Better numbers at every level at the same age. 2) his development has seen him get better every year, whereas Virtanen’s has been more up and down. Theyre similar, but the edge goes to Roslovic imo. A year younger but better
  19. Pretty simple one here. Roslovic has asked to be traded throughout the 2019-2020 season. C/RW player. Ppg in the AHL, 9 goals in 77 NHL games last year despite playing under 10 mins a night. 22 yrs old. Canucks should be all over this guy. I’d say his value is just slightly higher than that if Virtanen’s, but since he’s requested a trade his value has been brought down a bit. Jets have cap problems so taking a bad contract might help in getting Roslovic. Maybe take Kulikov back and send them Hutton? Something like: to WPG virtanen hutton to Van roslovic Kulikov
  20. Gotta disagree big time here. Depth scoring is much more important. I think you’re underselling his scoring upside. Very fast player with a good shot. Similar to Virtanen minus the physicality, but with a higher hockey IQ. Plus he can be locked up for cheap. What you don’t want to do is overpay players in your bottom 6. Kapanen can be an effective scoring 2nd line RW, who plays both special teams, for around 4 million per season and is still young (same age as virtanen and Goldobin). Put him with a guy like Bo and watch them outskate what ever defense they’re matched up against
  21. Kapanen would be a fantastic add. I’d say everything should be on the table besides the obvious untouchables (bo, brock, petey, Quinn, 10 oa). He’d instantly be the 4th best forward on the team and will likely sign long term for under 5 mill. Those are the players you win cups with
  22. 2015 is the strongest draft of the 2000’s (and probably further back than that) and you can’t convince me otherwise. Look at the number of players from that draft who are top 3 players on their respective teams
