Look, this is a great deal given the current circumstance but I will say that Edler's priorities have never ever been to win the Cup. Much like the Sedin's, he has given Vancouver a sweetheart deal due to his personal needs. This is not the type of player you build a Cup winner around. He is comfortable in Vancouver and just wants to ride it out here. We need to steer clear of these types of player mentality starting NOW.

I get that Edler has been a frustrating player at times. He hasn't fulfilled expectations that were projected on to him and like a lot of other Canucks, maybe he has been asked to punch above his weight. I used to get a comment on my report cards almost every semester that would read " Good enough rather than best seems to satisfy this very capable student". I think that applies to Edler as well. I also think we will miss him when he is gone.

Grief is different for everyone. Some losses can never be "gotten over".
