I'd take Dylan Guenther and the 12 mil in savings over OEL + Garland OEL has done fine and has slid under the radar so far but his contract is and will be an anchor. All Benning did was spend $$$ desperately trying to gain playoff experience and he couldn't do it. You can ice an NHL roster without spending right up to the cap, the teams we were on par with during this tenure spent way less money than us for the same results. We have zero prospects to trade and any roster player that would be traded would just leave a giant hole in the lineup

Benning's first few moves consisted of signing Luca Sbisa to a big contract, Trading 2nds for Vey and Baertschi, trading Forsling for Clendenning, a 3rd for Andrei Pedan, drafting Jake Virtanen 6th overall and then topped it all off by signing Loui Eriksson lol.
