    Not sure why you assume he's playing sheltered minutes even with 65% Offensive deployment the bulk of the coming from PP time as 50 point dmen don't grow on trees. 20:23/game is hardly being sheltered regardless. Pelech, Mayfield and even Pulock are all solid in the shut down role anyway so they don't have to rely on Dobson in that role either.

    .45 ppg and a guy who doesn’t complain playing 4th line minutes and defensively adequate is a lot more than nothing of use on the ice.

    He doesn't because of injuries and he's a swiss army knife that can play up or down the roster. That is the literal opposite of a hinderance.

    It is a hot take. Doesn't change that just because you don't like the player. Someone saying Dakota Joshua will score 25+ goals is a hot take, even though he won't doesn't mean it is not a hot take.

    We need players that are hard to play against and Garland is relentless. Beauvillier and Myers are the priority to move out unless someone is offering an overpayment for Garland.
