Well said. Talk show hosts have been shredding Presidents for as long as there have been talk shows. People who see it as any different now, either didn't watch much, or don't remember much. Nixon, Kissinger and Ford were all regular fodder....When Carter was POTUS, hardly a day went by without a "peanut" joke.....Clinton, Reagan, BusH Sr and Jr...no-one was exempt. In fact, I'd say that celebrities take up more of the hosts time these days, since they're far more visible than they were back in the so-called "golden era" of talk shows....

I have a funny story about that song....I was at a bar one night and the band was playing it.....I knew the guitar player quite well and the rest of the guys fairly well.... In the middle of the song, he comes over to me and says "Here. I don't feel like playing this anymore." I say, "I don't know this song!" (Yes, somehow I had gone over 30 years as a guitar player and never picked up that particular tune) Anyway, he responds with "Yes, you do.", takes off the guitar and puts it on me.....I listen for 30 seconds or so and figure out the progression is, C - B flat - F. I look at him and ask, "Is that it?" He nods and I say, "Oh. Apparently I do know it"....

If it means more opportunities for 'Bama to lose, I'm all for it....

There's always a serious segment to his shows. The comic relief is just that...to provide a bit of a respite from the heaviness of the topics. IMO, Oliver balances it better than anyone....

That's what the lyric sites will tell you, but I read somewhere that one of the guys in the band (might have been the singer, Mike D'Abo) admitted they were singing it as Joey typed.... One other thing I learned (that I wasn't aware of before) is that Jack Bruce was briefly in the band, before becoming a member of Cream....

Oliver is a much watch every Sunday night for me. He seems to do one of those awkward sexual things every season, for comic relief. (a lot of his topics are pretty heavy) Last season, he had this running thing where he was crushing on Adam Driver. Of course, at the end of the season, Driver Face Times him and reads him the riot act.... This season he's doing this thing where every time he snaps his fingers, George Clooney magically appears, doing whatever he happens to be doing at the time. (very much like the Bugs Bunny cartoon, with Aladdins lamp)

I'd say the same...anecdotally, or otherwise.....

I think my all time favorite song by Springsteen was the Patti Smith classic "Because the Night".....he also wrote the song "Fire", which was a huge hit for the Pointer Sisters.

From what I've been seeing and reading, it appears as though the youngsters are the most likely to be un-vaccinated. My mom is 87 and she got both of her shots as soon as they became available.....but she was a hospital worker, so she might not be the best example.

It's probably different in larger centers....here in our small corner of the North Coast, we're at over 60% fully vaccinated, so there are quite a few folks walking around maskless and probably a similar number still wearing them....but nobody is looking at anyone askance.

I can never look at Shatner quite the same, since I saw him on one of those celebrity roasts....(I think it was Rob Lowe) He pretty much shredded everyone on the dais and then later when it was Patrice Oneal's turn, he says "I can't believe the stuff from William Shatner! You're a f***ing a$$hole Captain Kirk!" Of course, if you ask George Takei or James Doohan, that's exactly what he is....

I can't believe it was decades after I saw the first one that I figured out Myers is wearing a William Shatner mask....

AFAIK, those restrictions have been lifted. However, some places might still require them. I carry one around with me in case it's needed.

You're correct.....but the 'Caps conceding in stoppage time has basically become like death and taxes.... Only this time, they did it themselves. I don't mean to pile on Dos Santos, but those substitutions worked out spectacularly poorly....White was horrific in Cavalini's spot....looked like he was dribbling a bomb...and what can you say about Veselenovic? On the pitch for a couple of minutes and manages to nod one in his own net....

But he's an All-Star.....

NASA techs have been trying to fix a defective Memory Module, but even going to a back up module has failed to fix the issue, suggesting that the problem goes deeper. It would really suck, if they were unable to get it back online....

No. It was pre-booked. However, we used the same site for our second shot and although I booked mine, the wife just did the walk-in and they had masks available both times.

I would be very surprised if they didn't have masks available. In fact, my wife and I showed up for our first shots with masks and they had us swap them for ones they had there.

For good old fashion gore-fests, I also loved Phantasm and the Hellraiser series....

Of course, even good lyricists have their moments... Case in point: Bruce Springsteen and Blinded by the Light

One thing I can say for sure.....if the Habs somehow come back and win, Biden won't refuse to pay up while claiming that the series was "rigged".... Sadly, from my occasional perusals of the actual series thread, it seems as though a significant number of posters are willing to claim just that, except that it's rigged in the Americans' favor....
