Trading Bo was one of the best moves this season. There is no way he deserves the contract he signed. He was a solid enough player, but not offensively gifted or consistent enough to be paid like he has. Good for him for cashing in though. I honestly haven’t missed him one bit. I think the team is playing better without him. That’s perhaps largely because of the better defensive system and hotter goaltending, but he isn’t the difference maker some imagine him to be.

Whatevs. Hard to complain when they win. I just hope it extends to early next season.

I’m still extremely disappointed that Canucks GM made this move for a third from Toronto. I would have just kept Schenn, even if he signed somewhere else in the offseason. He is probably what the Leafs needed most to actually balance out. A Canuck GM’s first priority should always be to help our team first, but a second close priority should be to not help out the Leafs and Flames in any way. We saw Markstrom, Tanev, and Toffoli all let go to help the Flames, even though it wasn’t enough. But shame on Canucks management for helping Toronto. Most Canucks fans despise the Leafs, and this needs to be recognized by those who make trades for this team.

I still think it’s highway robbery that they gave MVP to Matthews last year. McDavid deserved it last year, and he’ll get it with no eastern media interference this year.

I agree that he deserves the big bucks. I just hope he's willing to at least consider / factor in that he played terribly when he returned from his hold-out with Hughes, and that he was being overpaid for what he was bringing that year - we've invested in him, and hopefully he won't take us to the cleaners fully when it comes time to work on his next contract.

I’ve been watching the Canucks get softer each year. They’re being pushed around by the sissy Leafs tonight.

It’s a tough time for Canucks fans who grew up watching so many toughies on the club. There were times when our team was feared. So many goons over the years. And then that stopped, but at least we had guys who were still tough as nails and could throw them with most toughies. Now with Schenn gone, I look at this line-up and sure, there might be some guys who could protect themselves against regular-class toughies. But WHO is the toughest Canuck right now? Who is most likely to win a fight? If a team gets nasty on Hughes or Petey, who is there to put opposition in its place? This is a priority piece that continually gets pushed aside. I know the game has changed. But look around. Most teams still have real toughies who can play too. We have nobody who can regularly win fights and create intimidation. I’m sick of how easy it is to push this team around. We need more toughies!

Is it just me, or do a leaf fans generally have a lower IQ than the rest of society? To be a Leaf fan outside of Ontario you have proven to be more susceptible to brainwashing by media, and influenced by CBC’s and Sportsnet’s 24-7 coverage. Less independent thinking going on upstairs. I am hoping for one of two thing to happen tonight. 1) We miraculously win (and we can continue tanking every other night), and / or 2) We accidentally/ on purpose hurt some key Leafs, hindering their playoff hopes. I realize that it’s likely neither of these things will come to fruition, but a guy can dream.

I’m not happy with this one. I hate the Leafs with a passion. We play them Saturday. Schenn was our toughest player, with character. He wanted to stay here and we pissed him off. Leafs third rounder is almost a fourth rounder. I would have just kept him and signed him as a positive role model for this club. You need guys like Schenn, no matter what stage you’re in. And we probably helped the Leafs get out of the first round. I hate that thought.

Pretty entertaining game. Canucks hung tight with best team in the league. No issues with it, and we got a bit closer to Bedard. I hope next weekend we hurt a few Leafs, impacting their post season chances. I’d take that over a win.

He easily could have had a couple points tonight if the Canucks could finish off his great passes. He looked fine to me.

Petey looks very fast tonight. Such an awesome player. Shame on Brock Boeser for sucking so bad. He’s morphed into a post modern-day Louie Erikksson. So useless out there. Every time we try to showcase him, he ends up looking horrid. Miller is playing very solid. I’m glad we’ve still got him. Kuzmenko is amazing. NHL tried to ruin us with bad rulings. Billington tried to win. I’m glad we parked the tank for this one and got it done.
