I don't think some guys understand, how much courage it takes for a victim to come forward with allegations. There's sadly still a social stigma when you report something like this. I do think it would have been better if she spoke with a lawyer, and not use social media. But that's today's world. Innocent until proven guilty yes. But just because she took her time to reveal the incident doesn't make it less right. Part of the reason I'm not a lawyer is in High School we went to provincial court on a field trip. I saw a lawyer ripping into a rape victim, I was so angry and disgusted I had to leave the gallery. And the judge just sat there. I would have told him to tone it down minimum. The poor girl was sobbing. That's left a bad impression to this day.

Seems we have a slight update:

its very hard to stay neutral on this, particularly having a daughter about the same age as the accuser. We also know the numbers on false accusation rates are very low, but do exist.

I'm not surprised we're seeing some victim blaming going on, there's probably more people thinking that way than the few that have commented that way.

One thing that does encourage me though is the amount of either support or at least willingness to see where this leads. Not so long ago this would have been completely ignored.

Poor girl likely has PTSD.  We don't judge war vets for refusing to talk about their time in combat; this shouldn't be any different.  I have nothing but respect for this woman
