1. People routinely talk about tough guys as the ones who were 6'4, 220, and inflicted a ton of pain on others. To me, they're confusing strength and meanness (both good qualities) for toughness. Gerbe has to be one of the toughest in the NHL. As soon as he touches the ice, you know that there are five guys looking to make an example of him. He's easy to take a shot at. Even if he wasn't getting hit all the time, just the mental toughness to know that everyone else on the ice saw you as someone they could run consequence-free is difficult.
2. Costa. There is no way the UFC lets him fight at 170 in a meaningful fight... unless the conspiracy theorists are right about the weight-miss being on purpose.
3. Chimaev has spent his life physically dominating others with not much resistance. Cutting weight is an entirely different type of internal struggle. Not particularly shocked by this, especially given how he's carried himself the last week. Being Till's running mate probably doesn't help.
4. GoT with the unbelievable plot device of refusing to have Rickon run in anything but a straight line only to follow things up by swinging the pendulum entirely the other way with Daemon avoiding about 5,000 arrows. Good grief. I also just have no interest in seeing another "princess feels repressed" storyline. They're always told in the same way.
5. I agree. 1. Oracle 2. PNC 3. Dodger Stadium or maybe the Cardinals' Stadium Basically all the best stadiums are in the NL.
6. This makes me happy simply because of how much time some people wasted putting together JT trade proposals.
7. Whatever Bo is doing to try and be a better infielder is simply not working. I'm not questioning his work ethic, but at this point its fair to question/consider how he is working. The harder he works, the worse he gets.
8. I believe this was his 6th straight year of coaching Sweden at the WJs and won't be returning for Halifax. Saw people on Twitter taking shots at Lekkerimaki. It is pretty unusual for a player to have zero games under his belt in his D+1 year before representing his team at the Worlds. You get phenoms like Bedard and then some younger guys on rosters that aren't very deep. Four months should make a big difference in Lekkerimaki's development.
9. Was there ever a time where the WJHC was hockey in its purest form, or is that just the lie that TSN sold me? I'm glad that players get to experience the tournament. I'm also glad that the tournament appears to be a commercial failure. On top of people not wanting to give Hockey Canada more money to fund cover ups of sexual assault, I'm glad that Canadians are sending a message that there is more to life than hockey and we aren't going to be bent over a barrel by the greed of tournament organizers. I'm still enjoying watching hockey, but I'm also glad to see some failure in hopes that priorities will need to be shifted.
10. Not how damages work. The "Cost" is inclusive of all forms of suffering. If he invested 10 million, he'd be suing for far more.
11.
Plaintiff is entitled to special damages for the damage done to his, investment, business, trade, profession, occupation, or reputation including the amounts of money Plaintiff expended as a result of [Wayne's] assertions," they continued.
They didn't invest 10 million. They are suing for 10 million in damages. For someone as obsessed with arguing about everything/anything you basically never read. If you want to use this forum to argue (weird), try developing one strong argument instead of throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks.
12. The Bear Phenomenal TV. It's loud, intense, and some episodes extremely frantic and fast-paced.
13. You're right about Bo's approach. But to me, I have zero issue with a guy who takes the game of baseball really seriously. The problem I have with Bo is whether he takes baseball seriously or his image seriously. For someone who puts on a serious face he has some obnoxious approaches at the plate. I found the Donaldson/Bautista/Encarnacion era more enjoyable because they (especially Donaldson and Bautista) were such students of the game.
14. Kikuchi has looked bad for what, 4 months? Even when he was getting wins and not allowing runs, his control was poor. This is like Edmonton wasting away years of McDavid and Draisaitl by never improving their goaltending.
15. Not exactly a game that will get you excited about the tournament as a whole.
16. Belter of a signing as the Kings add their first Scotland-born to the roster.
17. Thanks. It wasn't working on my laptop but I was able to subscribe through the app and now it works on my laptop.
18. I'm trying to renew my TSN subscription for a month to watch the WJHC, but I keep getting the following message: A TSNTV subscription already exists for this card number. Please enter a new card number or sign in with an existing account. My subscription is expired yet I can't renew with this card and I'm signed into my only account. Anyone know what to do?
