I'm just really glad that's not something unoriginal like "Hughesy"

oh for sure; originality is what breeds good nicknames. 'hughesy' would be unbearable, especially with 'petey' already a thing.

i think one of the worst things for nicknames in hockey is that we've started restricting them to alliterative/punny stuff when there's a whole world of creativity to go and explore into before settling on something.

remember KB3's 'juice'? that was perfect- earned it in a vague story he's never explained well while riding the bus with the old Moose gang in the A. there was spontaneity in it, and what's a better nickname story than one that's not told? we all get to imagine...
