Watched about 15 minutes of this game, found it boring AF meathead hockey. Friedman has 12 replies to his tweet on Khodobin's shutout, nobody cares. NHL has to change, call the game the way it should be called, playoffs or not. Marchand punching D. Sedin in the face is a * * penalty. Reaves clucking like a chicken is an unsportsmanlike penalty. I don't want to watch clutch and grab, I don't want to watch bully tactics and cheap shot hits and wacks to the hands. I want to watch fast skilled hockey, the kind of game the Canucks play, when they have proper rest and preperation. * the war of attrition, I want to watch skilled and fast hockey.

Hey Vanuckles. I hear what you're saying. I want to win badly, but after all this time, i want to win playing Canucks style hockey. The 2011 cup should have went to Vancouver. That 2011 team had the best game in the league by miles and that is why they were hated, they were so good, but what happened, meathead hockey happened. I can't forget or forgive the NHL game for that. I can't forgive or forget HNIC and eastern media for the role they played in that. Vindication for me is the Canucks winning playing Canucks style hockey. Total Hockey. A skilled team game.

It's tempting to go for it next year because this team was really good in the bubble and showed great signs earlier in the season too. They have great goaltending. So yeah, tempting to bring back the team plus another ufa, trade picks, trade a top rookie asset to make cap space. I love this team, but I don't think they should do that.

I agree. They changed up their gameplan for game 5. They were turning the pucks over, needed better execution on their outlet passes to the wingers games 1, 3, and 4. Game two (in this series) was the only game that showed just how great the Canucks can be. They changed their gameplan for games 5 and 6 and 7 and almost got it done. After all this time, I don't want a cement head Canucks team. I want to win the cup Canucks style. i don't care that meathead hockey wins playoff games... I don't. I was hoping for a return to that game 2 style tonight, but wasn't going to happen.

Have to hand it to Benning, he really took a shot at it this year and it almost worked. I think the Canucks win this game if it isn't a back to back. Some say well Vegas had to play it to, but they play differently. They play a meaner, tougher, less skilled more straight ahead and fierce game. Skill needs rest, skill needs planning, a skill team needs to connect on their passes to win. This game looked like game 1... not connecting on break out passess from the d zone. Question right now is whether Benning should go for it again next year with Petey and Hughes on entry level contracts still. I don't think so. We need to loose some contracts next year. I think groom some more young players next year.

Any taller and Hughes isn't Hughes. Makar's longer legs mean there's that much more of him to get a piece of. Skating stances are much different. Although smaller, Hughes will be more durable. I think Hughes will have a signficantly better and longer career.

I haven't seen enough of Makar, but from what I've seen Hughes is the more special player. Was looking fwd to watching Hughes vs Makar. Instead the two "heavier" teams prevail.

They finish their checks but don't finish their chances well. They don't shoot the puck well. Looks like they pass well cuz the Canucks didn't pressure the puck carrier especially on the pp when in the canucks zone. They work really had tho. I don't like their style of play at all.

Have to say Vegas never quit coming. They play very straight ahead, are good at turning pucks over in the neutral zone, very good at checking. They play mean and dirty. I don't like them at all. I think they lack high end skill. The back to back put the more skilled team at a disadvantage tonight.

I keep thinking about Reaves clucking like a chicken and Riley with the attempted headshot on EP40. Maybe the NHL should be addressing bully teams and bully like behavior in the game itself. Maybe hockey fans should reflect on why so many fans find this type of behavior (the intimidation factor) acceptable in the game itself.

This action by the players and nhl causes me to stop and reflect on this. It makes me wonder how problems can be fixed in society. I can adjust my attitudes, but who fixes problems like this in our society? Governments? Corporations? They have the money, they have the influence. Seems our governments pretty much just try and keep as quiet as possible, not wanting to say things that effect their potential for re-election. This isn't leadership. Corporations are interested in profits not people. Where is the leadership? How to change things for the better? Yeah, I'm reflecting on this today. I'd rather escape into my love for the Canucks and the game and shotgun jake tonight instead.

The whole Reaves Rousseau narrative upsets me a lot. I don't get the whole chirping thing. A 12 year old pulls that kind of behavior, clucking like a chicken at someone, we call that kid a bully, that kid probably needs councilling. I don't like jerks in hockey. I don't like bully teams. The fact that the cbc was selling this narrative all night long was disgusting. The Canucks should wear pregame jerseys for warmup tomorrow that all say on the back (nba style), "BULLIES AREN'T COOL". That's all the chirping they need to do, just play the game.

agreed, Canucks looked so solid tonight.

seemed like their was one guy on each line missing passes. when this happens, the coach should make in game adjustments and change up the lines.

rooting for our team regardless of how they line up and likely not the time to experiment. That said, part of being a fan is watching how the guys are going, mixing in a bit of dream and lining up the team. Sports is real, this situation, no fans, is real and it is compelling. NHL has to keep this real. I hated the fake fan noise on the broadcast last night. This is an opportunity for fans to hear the sounds of the game itself.

i don't know, see Bo Horvat more like the Rod Brindamour type. Maybe Gaudette should aspire to be a 1c. Having trouble finding a comparable player, maybe like Fedorov, long, rangy, fast, can check and hit, can score... not sure

Gutsy team effort tonight. Great to see Demko have a game like that as gives us hope for a better outcome next game. Stetcher unlucky again on home ice. Virtanen played really well.
