So - Who Should The Canucks Take At The Number 9 Spot?
Comeback_Kings replied to Patel Bure's topic in Canucks Talk
it seems like a tough pick for JB and the Canucks. gut feel, not based on a lot, just looking around like a cdc_er, if I'm JB, i take a skilled bpa fwd at 9. Fabian Lysell Mason McTavish -
JB is going to retool all over again, this time with a young core.

[Speculation] Is Schmidt on the move?
Comeback_Kings replied to Me_'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
How about Oleksiak as a UFA signing? An Oleksiak Schmidt pairing seems like it would be a good tough to play against pairing. -
I think there is. Hughes is em·blem·at·ic of the kind of fan tas tic type of hockey the Canucks can and do play and are going to play moving forward. He's ours and I don't want to trade him. em·blem·at·ic

* Tryamkin ! I dreamed about the big guy being some sort of roster genius move for us too, but * him, doesn't want to be part of the greatest hockey franchise on the planet, he's had enough attention from us, moving on to never saying his name again on this forum.

If there are ufa deals like last offseason because of a flat cap, it would make sense to be "aggressive", but Benning has to be willing to come in second and third place on these bids. They would have to be deals better than the Pearson contract. Seattle is going to have money to burn and each team will loose some roster money and that will likely be enough to bring up the cost on UFA's this offseason.
-
No more plush taxi squad gig, we can go watch little things do his thing in Abby.
-
yeah, but Benning may spend it this offseason. I think he should stop spending cap on expensive depth and save up for a player like Seth Jones or Parayko.

Agreed. Use the space in 2022 for the best available RHD.

[GDT/PGT] Vancouver Canucks vs Toronto Maple Leaves | April 18 | SNP
Comeback_Kings replied to -SN-'s topic in Canucks Talk
here for it, van city misfits, circa 1994, taxi squad + callups Lind and Rathbone etc... bring it. -
Liked the way Gaudette celebrated scorring goals, just didn't score enough of them. Has upside and speed, but is a tweener. Could develop into a top 6 goal scoring winger for the Hawks. Could also fill out with stomach issues in the past and become a good sized player. All that said, just didn't seem like there was a good fit for him on the roster. With up and coming prospects at forward I can see why management has made this move.

[Signing] Canucks re-sign Tanner Pearson
Comeback_Kings replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
He was tradeable, not anymore. -
Canucks should trade Pearson as soon as they can, Sutter as well. Seems likey the coming off season will be comparable to the last one and UFAs will be available and signing for less than expected.

The I have Mixed Feelings about Jim Benning Chaosthread 3000
Comeback_Kings replied to Me_'s topic in Canucks Talk
Yeah I've understood what Benning has tried to do with the Canucks over these 7 years. The mixed results have been understandable and It has been interesting and entertaining. I love Benning for his drafting. He's drafted skilled character people with a high hockey IQ who seem perfectly suitable to playing Canucks Hockey. The Canucks young core is about to become the Canucks core and will be supported by even more great young players. Never before in the history of the Canucks have they had a pipeline like this. The future is bright. -
Seemed to me the team gave up after the 2nd goal last night. Players looked really dejected on the bench to close out the game. We are pretty much at the point that they need to plan it out for next season and retool. This season has to become about something else. Developing some of the younger players... that's why Juolevi needed to stay in.
