All four have been the wrong players at the wrong time.Garrison has been a good 3/4 defensive d man that was hailed as a PP specialist,which he is not. So,we have a GM that is not capable of making sound personnel decisions,based on his most critical moves to replace the PP contributions and production of Ehrhoff,Samuelsson,Salo and Hodgson.

Some owners don't allow their GM to spend money. Gillis was allowed to spend max,signed the twins for value and then hosed Burr. If Gillis actually made decent signings with the cap space the core gave him and the ownership bequethed to him then the Canucks should be at the top each year. That did not happen,despite huge advantages over the rest of the NHL.

I liked Schneider but Luo is a great goaltender with an anvil contract. This was a necessary move to dump Schneider and free up the valuable space Lack provided the team this season. Of all the players added this season that should stay on next year that are 'youthful' is Stanton. Dalpe and Weber are fringe players and Santo,Richardson and Diaz are all on the cusp of 30 years of age.

Six losses in October. The team was also healthy in November-five losses in a row and eight losses in thirteen games. Ten losses in January with a couple of three-game losing streaks. Four games in and four consecutive losses in February. Tenth in the West and 21st in the league. Everything is ok.

I did not glean that out of his/her post but I agree that a GM should and typically does steer clear of that type of hyperbole,anyways. That is normally put on the coach -Booth and Hansen are recent examples of being publicly chastized.It is demeaning,I agree. Gillis had no problem chastizing Hodgson in public after he traded him,which is much the same thing- "We built him into something we could move" ,"I spent more time on Cody's issues than all the player's combined over the last three years","We made a determination he didn't want to be here..". I don't see how Gillis thinks that throwing his-or any- NHL player under the bus endears him to anybody in the NHL or anybody in any walk of life. This is not " great motivation " ,especially if you are another pro player seeing a fellow pro getting thrown under the bus after a trade as the GM tries to lessen the fact he looks like a dufus,only to make himself look like an even bigger one. When Gillis says everything is going to be ok and it's a process I just laugh because he has a lengthy new contract and it is going to be ok for him. Pretty much what Eddie Shack said to Daniel in layman's terms,only Gillis uses lawyer speak.

Without Hank and a healthy Burr to help out Dan this team stinks. The break is what this team needs. If Luo does not play for Canada in a starting role the team can do well in March and April. Dallas should win tonight so the Nucks sit in tenth place. The Aquaman and MG might make the decision to fold on the season and trade,however. It would be the wisest route,given the odds.

Interesting concept when your star players are 34 years of age. How about playing them less so they can perform year round and ,most importantly,at playoff time?

Gillis does not have the hockey knowledge to make those types of deals. Gillis signed contracts for a living. Never coached,never scouted,never assisted a GM,never made trades and never assessed talent for a living.

The team will fall out of the playoff race tonight. The team has the 29th placed PP in the league. The team has more goals scored against them than they have managed to score-they are eleventh in the West in goals scored. The negative posters indicate the team reality. When the team does well there are less complaints.

No,that is not what I said. Torts is a problem ,many problems. Has been everywhere he has coached. The GM failed to support his gifted talent with the types of players that ensures further success. Evaluating player talent is what successful franchises consistently overachieve at.

No other coach in Canucks history acts like Torts. No other coach in the league acts like Torts. Torts has had two suspensions and four fines at the NHL level.I could check into his AHL antics but they would be no different. Hank and Dan have led this team in scoring for an eternity and are the all time leaders in every major offensive category. Hank and Dan are not shotblockers and dump n chase veterans. They need a playmaker or two but the big guy on the endless fishing trip can't figure it out.

Hiring this coach was the problem. This team had a PP that killed the league. Get a smooth puck moving d man to play with Edler. Whomever plays the best with Garrison mans the second pairing. Gillis signed the Sedins to finish out their careers here.I hope he has a plan to accentuate their talents instead of making them block shots and dump n chase. As for the gong show,Tootsie leads the league in that department.
