  1. you clearly want to keep your head in the sand and pretend that makes no difference look at what has happened historically attaching racial labels to sickness always turns out poorly for the race so labelled you don't seem to care about that though and simply brush it off as a nothing.. . when it is not
  2. take your head out of the sand your approach engenders racial backlash that is why trump labels it in this manner against the advice of his advisors
  3. Rep. Chu: Attacks on Asian-Americans 'very, very alarming' https://www.msnbc.com/hallie-jackson/watch/rep-chu-attacks-on-asian-americans-very-very-alarming-81432133868
  4. exactly what does that accomplish ? name calling makes you feel better ?
  5. i have nothing against you personally i try to avoid personalizing posts my response here is to suggest you look at the facts though trump claimed the virus was a hoax stood idle did nothing prevented states from doing testing, as cdc controls that issue, and the test kits they bungled the first test kit greatly delayed testing until march (bc has been testing since january) he has gone on and on recently about medical supplies he uses the time of crisis to attack others who are trying to be productive he is not productive, but counterproductive many many will die in the usa due to his inaction so i think there are very good grounds to be very critical of trump that is not trump derangement syndrome but reality label it anyway you choose though does not change his responsibility for the poor outlook in the usa regarding this virus i have friends and relatives in the usa some will be affected by this not too concerned if this hurts your feelings somehow but hurt feelings likely are because you prefer to stay in denial on this issue so that's on you
  6. i recommend some body altering surgery as well did not know growing ones hair randomly has this much impact on the rest of the appearance
  7. you are trying to get me to click on that aren't you????
  8. well when you delay testing so long to be effective you actually have to do an exponential amount of more testing to achieve the same information as early testing would reveal at some point testing no longer assists with tracking as the numbers of cases gets too high and then you have to wonder why the testing would be taking place on the front end it might be better to do it at the back end to confirm infected are cured but trump is all about numbers so i can see he will focus on ramping up those test numbers now
  9. he was not a coronavirus fatality yet she explicitly said that last week she was waiting for the coroner's investigation outcome but i'm going to stop speculating on this likely should not have posted my first post on this
  10. 1 + 1 = 2 ? we were told last week coroner was investigating 1 case were waiting for the conclusion of their investigation so that 1 is now done?
  11. i appreciate we are not keeping score like in a hockey game but i just said yes out loud hearing the first numbers
  12. well we all know that he is projecting because that is his thought process about supplies during a crisis a financial opportunity if he controlled supplies be assured he'd be selling them out the back door(s) somewhere
  13. whenever i hear about eddie i get hungry for some reason weird
  14. they donated a handful to canada a trifle a small gift size only (not that this does not help somewhat)
  15. ok just to support a bit of what you are saying governor cuomo just said in his daily update that it is ironic that usa states are up bidding each other for medical supplies (2 weeks ago ventilators cost $20k and now they are $50k) and that these medical supplies are being sourced in china they will be coming out of china purchased in china damn..... that is twisted
  16. the other consequence that needs to be factored in to compliance buyouts is that this is an expense that will need to be accounted for eventually in determining future salary cap thresholds this is not a neutral expense item the players will end up paying a share of these buyout costs
  17. well said and really those are the 2 competing narratives right now did the draconian approach work ? is/has the authoritarian state really spouting misinformation about the situation in china?
  18. well holland (the netherlands) are right next door and culturally is not really significantly different but they are remarkably different during this crisis
  19. my heritage has strong roots in that country they have an amazing history of industrial and other technological advancements quality has long been a signature of products from that country though a bit off topic of this thread i am truly interested in how germany has such a low mortality and critical cases in this virus crisis despite showing a large number of confirmed cases could just be where they might be on the trajectory of the disease but they seem to be doing remarkably better then all other european countries comparatively
  20. or it could be good for vancouver's reputation that it capably develops management people to such an extent that they cannot possibly retain them all and so allow such talented people to explore options elsewhere to advance their careers makes vancouver much more attractive to young highly skilled management types who could view vancouver as an attractive organization in which to develop their skills knowing that they will not be held back if they develop solidly it becomes a win win situation for the organization and younger talent the organization can always target the true superstar then and do what it takes to retain that person
  21. the germany situation is curious not sure why they decided to highlight support to one sector of society they could just have easily taken out the proportion of support the beer industry is receiving there and provided a lump sum number showing their special support of beer or hair salons (which are closed) they are supporting workers in that industry too could have hived out a lump sum to represent the "special" focus on hair stylists would that also elevate their import in society ?
  22. usa confirmed cases will double china today they likely to project to be over 500,000 confirmed cases by the end of this week it appears their rate of increase of infection is still increasing
  23. i think artistic fruit arrangements are particularly valuable right now
  24. do you even read no idea how you get this statement from my posting my posts directly deal with information leaking undermining the chinese official position how you get to me believing the official position? i have no idea ..... really
  25. not sure why you want to deflect from the real topic i am not really interested in discussing the dark web in this thread but the china situation including relevant information leaks that keeps us updated on it no matter what the official messaging might be i am particularly curious about china's longer term plan to deal with the fact that the vast majority of its population has not been exposed to the virus and is extremely vulnerable their containment solution has created a bit of an unintended consequence that the rest of their population is now a sitting time bomb awaiting exposure
