  1. Yeah, I say we help Ottawa out by taking Mikkel Boedker or Brady Tkachuck off their hands in exchange for a 7th rounder. I'm sure they'd be grateful....
  2. uh....ok? Both have been snake-bitten with injuries, but when their healthy they're both very serviceable players. Anything but "garbage players" don't you think?
  3. No problem, it's always good to have a friendly discussion. That being the case, your above statement is really only half correct. The New Testament Canon was already firmly established by the time the Council of Nicea came along in 325AD. Since there was no email, internet, social media, post mail, phone calls, fax etc.... it took a while before any official documentation or wide-spread agreement was known. For the most part, the agreement was there, knowledge of agreement, well....that's another story. The Christian Councils never establish/created church doctrine, they declared in official ceremony and documentation what the Christian doctrine always was. At the Council of Nicea, over 300 Bishops met to deal with a small, but powerful sect called the "Aryans" who arose out of the Gnostic sects of the 2nd century. Arius, the leader of the Aryans was attempting to push the Gnostic belief that Jesus was not divine, but only a man. The Nicean Council just officially confirmed what the church always believed about the divinity of Jesus and thus, "officially" condemned Arius and his followers as heretics. The Council didn't create the doctrine of the divinity of Jesus, they just officially upheld it.
  4. Actually, without getting into a huge debate here, the Roman Emperor had nothing to do with the formation of the Christian New Testament. By 135-145AD, 26 of the 29 New Testament books were accepted as part of the Christian canon. There are so many New Testament references in the writings of the early church fathers of the early 2nd century that by 145AD you could reconstruct all 29 books of the New Testament.
  5. Article doesn't explicitly say...best case scenario (if there is one) is that it is as you say....hooligans. However, given the rise of anti-Semitic rhetoric and attacks across France in recent years, combined with the banning of Jews from Strasbourg town square/waving Israeli flags/limiting number of "Jews" into the stadium, I think it's safe to say the violence is due more to anti-Semitic racism than just "hooligans from the home side". Water takes the path of least resistance....so does explicit displays of anti-Semitic racism. No better example than a French soccer match
  6. Jewish victims of racial violence banned from the open square and waving their flag at a soccer game? Eventually, the unrestrained antisemitism that's reaching epic proportions across Europe isn't going to end well. Get ready for a return to 1937....the more things change, the more they stay the same. Jewish Soccer Fans Beaten in Strasbourg as Police Bans Israeli Flags from Tonight’s Game, Jewish Fans Banned from Center of French city over Antisemitism Fears
  7. 1. VAN 2. VAN 3. VAN 4. VAN 5. VAN 6. VAN 7. VAN 8. VAN Before the first puck drops in Oct, I think we have a very good chance to come out of the West....
  8. ^^^THIS^^^^ Though IMHO, the trend line is a short one. As good a talent as BB is, his 56 points last year put him in with W. Karrlson or T.J. Oshie. Both those players have a much longer trend/track record and both are making just over 5.5M or so. A *prove it to me* deal would be ideal. A 3 years @ 5.75m wouldn't be too bad, but with Petterson and Hughs payday coming, JB may be considering locking BB in for the long term. Cap heavy up front, but a little easier on the back end of the contract so 6 x 6m per *may* suffice. It's a bit of a gamble though....
  9. That's not self defense, but premeditated murder. Dude definitely deserved punishment, but jumped by a mob and beat to death??? Mob on one = vigilante justice. I wouldn't be surprised if murder charges are brought against the father/mob participants.
  10. Ferland-Pettersson-Boeser Pearson-Horvat-Miller Leivo-Beagle-Virtanen Goldobin-Gaudette-Motte Edler-Myers Hughes-Tanev Benn-Stecher Markstrom Demko
  11. now all we have to do is wait another 7 years and we can scoop up Panarin....
  12. Ferland is LW.... would like to try him out with Petey and Brock
  13. A lot of truth here, but there's a bigger question that all Liberal, Conservative and NDP governments have sought to suppress. A question that if answered openly and correctly would fill our streets with anarchy and civil unrest, leading us down the road to revolution. If a man changes his clothes does he not remain the same man? When we dig a little deeper and strip away the veneer, we find that the same handlers control all three major political parties. The "change" of government is just another shirt put on the same man. The "Liberal", "Conservative" and "NDP" tags become labels to categorize and divide the sheeple so they can be more easily manipulated and controlled. Western political theory is but a perfect example of the Hegelian Dialectic of "Thesis, Antithesis, Synthesis", - Ordo Ab Chao - Order out of Chaos!
  14. or......he must want to play for an organization that actually wanted to sign him.
  15. Still crossing my fingers JB swoops in at the last minute and snatches Panarin away with an offer he just can't refuse... 8 x 8 and a chance to play with Pettersson! Get the pen ready and get'r done Jim!
  16. Even with his -21 last year, I'd take Phaneuf for 1-2 yrs "for 2 million Alex" over pylon Pouliot any day
  17. For a more potent shake, add a little bit of this....and shake well! Vasili Podkolzin 3G 1A vs USA Aug 11 2018 2018 Hlinka Gretzky.mp4
  18. Schenn brought some much needed stability, calmness and grit to the D this season. IMHO, he's well-deserving of being resigned if only for the short-term
  19. I remember seeing Canucks GM Dave Nonis on "After Hours" one Saturday night (before Luongo was traded to the Canucks). He was asked who he thought the best goalie in the world was and before the interviewer could finish his question, Nonis blurted out "Roberto Luongo!!". Shortly after, the Canucks traded Todd Bertuzzi, Alex Auld and Bryan Allen to the Panthers for Roberto Luongo, Lukas Krajicek and a 6th rounder. One of the best trades in Canuck history!
