Its the typical first reaction to a trade "that sucks, should have gotten more, come on Canucks!" 

In afterthought though these seem like some very good trades.

Holm was a major question mark on a deep LD side for us, so trading him for a feisty two way forward who has produced at the AHL seems like a very good bet.

Vanek was a sign and trade guy. Motte has potential and is actually having a decent year at the AHL level and doest require waivers next year. Has scored a lot at the NCAA level, is feisty, an absolute pest and producing decently at the ahl level. Jokining is just cap.

Vanek took a long time to take a cheap contract even after a decent statistical year last year.  He's a notorious playoff no-show so I'm not shocked his value wasn't huge.  I like both the guys they got and hope they can play  a Burr/Hansen type role for us in the future.  Jokinen is also a warm body for a healthy scratch so we aren't sitting kids in the press-box who could be in Utica.  This isn't NHL 18.

I’m really starting to warm up to Leipsic and Motte. Imagine a line of Leipsic - Motte - Virtanen. That’s a ton of speed and you got Leipsic and Motte to piss people off then there’s Virtanen who’d rearrange someones face if he looked at them wrong.
