  1. Where are all the fines for cheapshots on Petterson?
  2. 1) The first Bure game. 2) The goal on Vernon in 94 3) The dragon slaying goal. 4) Trading for Luongo and ending the goalie graveyard era. 5) Drafting Petterson and Hughes.
  3. They should be unveiling a statue.
  4. Yeah, she is with my wife's parents so we talk everyday. Daughter is doing well. The most dangerous age group for this virus are adults from what we are hearing on the streets. Children can get the virus but to them the symptoms are weak so we have been feeling better about that. Just want her home.
  5. Most of my friends from other countries have returned home and in quarantine back in their own countries so that is a relief. But things are getting tighter. Most of the housing communities are closed off from with people delivering food and essentials. Every day, I see a whole lot of trucks that are disinfecting every part of the city. So everyone is doing everything that is possible to control the spreading. So on that front everything is good the hard part is being stuck at the house and not being able to go out but that's unavoidable. My wife is more scared at the moment than I am because most of the people who have passed on have been the elderly between 60-90 years old as thier bodies are weakest to fight against it and my wife's parents are around that age so she has been worried everyday and calling them four or five times a day.
  6. Living here, I can see those numbers. Can those numbers be double or triple absolutely, but at the same time. How you going to report those numbers when you have so many doctors who are working anyways. They are reporting about 2500 new patients per day, how many doctors do you think is needed to diagnose so many patients? This isn't like a conveyer belt with people lining up to be counted. And it's not that China doesn't have a good track record of telling the facts, it's the media choosing which sound bites to show the public to paint the public image they so desire on a country or on a person. Has the media talked much about how much the people in the city has had to give up in order to be staying at home? Everyone's lives here are in limbo. We can't see your friends, we can't be with family. Yet to each person here, they are content to stay this way if it means not to further spread the virus. Family, friends and relatives here can't even give a proper funeral to any loved one who passed on because they must be cremated in case the person can still contaminate post mortem. I understand that people stand on different fences of the political spectrum but when we are talking about human casualty and the sacrifices, the pain and heartbreak that is happening at this moment. Shouldn't this be above politics?
  7. Eriksson is playing pretty well on Bo's line right now, so we get rid of him right when he is finally showing soomething? I waited too long for this, also why is Beagle gettiing the press box treatment? Toffoli's role is already being filled by Pearson. Simmonds, I would like to have.
  8. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To the lucky people Canada is the best nation in the world, but that depends on what your life is like. While I love being Canadian and think Canada is a wonderful country, living in Canada especially in the big city sucks. I lot of people I know go to work so they can get a paycheck, see almost 40% of their paycheck go directly to the government on payday. (The government always gets paid first.) Then the rest of their paycheck goes to rent and to pay off their credit cards just so they can keep using their credit cards next month. It's just a grind. This generation has it even worse. Work in the city live in the suburb, hours of travel time just to save money on rent, pay off student loans while living in a pretty expensive city. On health issues, if you need to go to the ER, you often need to wait 8-9 hours before seeing a doctor. Growing up in Canada and seeing the way it is now, I honestly believe the 70-80's generation of adults had it easier than the pressures people face now.
  9. Well, I'm a little outside Wuhan but my daughter went to visit her grandparents in Wuhan. I made the mistake of letting her visit her grandparents for too long before this ban on traveling inside of Wuhan. I have tried every means possible to try to get her back to me but to no avail. So me and my wife are on one far side of the city and my daughter is on the other side and we are not allowed to get her. The only thing I can do it is watch the news pray the virus does not hit my daughter's area and wait. I'm not really worried about the virus, if it means I can get to my kid I'll take that virus and smile. As for the virus, we can only wait it out and order supplies via mobile app.
  10. You think the D will be all healthy the whole time?
  11. No, they have assisted all countries in evacuating it's citizens. Canada is dragging thier heels.
  12. No because the US got thier people out. The Canadian Embassy is dragging on this, every country in the world are getting thier people out except for Canada. The Expats here keep talking to the Embassy and all they are saying is to sit tight.
  13. Hey everyone, I just need to say that I am very sad with the response my home country has shown to the other Canadians that are in Wuhan. There are many countries that are acting swiftly in evacuating it's citizens yet my Canadian friends and I have rarely heard a peep about evacuating the Canadians. Unfortunately I will not be on that plane because my wife and kids are Chinese and I will not leave them but it would certainately be nice to see my Candian friends in Wuhan have a chance to be evacuated.
  14. I think if actually faced with the situation, you might be suprised. People are perfectly fine locking themselves down so that they don't catch this from others. If people riot, there is a good chance you will come in close contact with someone and get the virus yourself. Most of the people are locked down and content not because they are being told to but because they are scared of contracting the virus.
  15. As I have said the number 17 came from the provincial government not the central government and that article has been a few days old. The Federal government has come in and things are being done very differently.
  16. I do not believe they would keep the rate of death lower as this would probably be pretty well known in the scientific community where doctors from all over the world are getting together to find a cure. I have some buddies who live near the hospital and right now the biggest issue is that the hospitals are overcrowded with people have the common cold and are freaking out. My buddies tell me that there are as much people leaving because they did not have anythign serious. If there was any cover up of numbers it would probably be from the provicial jurisdiction because they probably don't want to get in trouble and make it into a big thing, but that would only have been earlier on, now that the Central government, they can't lie with the numbers. What's worrisome right now is that there is a reported 80 deaths while only 51 have recovered. So far the mortality rate is higher than the recovery rate.
  17. I have lived here for many years and the government does not train them to obey. Can you possibly imagine in your logical mind that this is a country with over a billion people and for a Party to be able to control the populace like robots who obey? People here are trained to obey thier families and everything they do has a direct respect to thier families. Most of the people here would rather talk about things happening within thier lives than what government has to say. Sometimes I honestly believe the news media has brainwashed people to think one way without getting both sides of the news. Things that happened over thirty years ago and 4 Chairmans later are, people are still hanging this thing on thier heads. Every country in the world has made mistakes. So does that mean everytime I talk about the American government, I need to start of with every atrocity they have made within the past 30 years? When I talk about the Canadian government, should I talk about the Natives and the Head tax? This is a conversation about the people, the lives that are being fought and lost. Why in this critical time would you choose to trash the government and insult a whole nation of people by saying they are too stupid to think for themselves? You know since they obey and everything.
  18. Dude, you are ignorant. People are obeying because they don't want the virus themselves or affect others if they have it. The only fear the populace has right now is over the virus not the government. I can understand that you don't like the government but stop spewing your hate when more important things need to be focused on.
  19. It looks like the food problem is solved. People can order food through an app and the groceries will deliver to the doorsteps. There has been a ban on companies jacking up prices with a government phone number for people to complain to should that happens. So that is a good thing. People and companies are all donating masks and medical supplies from all over the country. They are disinfecting the streets, district per district. Building two hospitals from within a week. So the spirit seems pretty good for the people in the city.
  20. As of midnight tonight all vehicles are banned on the roads. So pretty much no one can go out. These are some pictures of what normally is the busiest area of the city with millions of shoppers everyday. Has turned to this.
  21. Thanks, I'll keep you all updated.
  22. It's not too bad where I am but the hospitals are filling up. The government here has started work on building a new hospital from the ground up. They said the new hospital will be built within 6 days so it can handle this virus specifically. There is now a province wide lockdown so all the neighboring cities as well as Wuhan has no more trains or airplanes coming in. All highways to get in at out of the major cities in the province are now closed. So we are all incubated in our homes. From what I have seen from the people of the city, all are pretty much reserved to being quarantined at home and monitoring what is going on from the internet. Only time people are going out is for food. So it's ok right now.
