WOOOOW That was fast finding that image. I enjoyed the fight... but I can't believe how BAD that made Griffen look. I mean... Silva STOOD IN FRONT OF FOREST GRIFFEN with his hands at his waist... That's usually a recipe for suicide. Pretty brutal

ANd BJ Penn Cheated. He's on Steroids and bathed in KY Jelly. He also put poison in Florian's water... ANd umm... I think he was whispering sweet nothings in Ken Flo's ears on the ground... and umm... also... he uhh... He farted to distract him. He's not allowed to do that.

That fight was brutal. Worst, most boring UFC I have ever seen. I don't care3 what anyone says in the media to try and hype it up. Not one fight had me on the edge of my seat. Very Very Very dissapointed

Silva match was horrrribleeeeeeee

So was the Penn fight. Ken Flo pushing him against the fence to try and wear Penn out for 95 % of the fight. Good strategy or not, it was horrible to watch.

To be honest, the entire event was terrible

I also think the Griffin KO was suspicious, a durable blood and guts fighter getting badly dumped by a nonchalant chickenwing jab thrown while moving backward? I can see a flash knockdown coming out that that but not anything to totally take the fight out of a guy and make him run from the ring.

Not a great night of fights, unfortunately.

Next card at UFC 102 in Portland on August 29th should be better, though.

* Heavyweight bout: Randy Couture vs. Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira

* Light Heavyweight bout: Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva

* Middleweight bout: Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt

* Middleweight bout: Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia

* Light Heavyweight bout: Brandon Vera vs. Krzysztof Soszynski

Silva knocked down Griffin twice earlier in the round. Griffin was most likely badly hurt and dazed, and that little shot was the dagger in the heart.

Penn and Forian fight was good.

It's a technical game. If you didn't like it, then you arn't a true fan of mma.

I consider myself a hardcore MMA fan and I love technical fights, but it was so dull in one of the bouts that Joe Rogan was talking about a scrap that was going on in the crowd for a solid minute and he even acknowledged that what was going on between two of the fans was more entertaining than the actual fight taking place in the octagon.

You see what I mean?

I didn't hear that comment, but i liked the fight.

Watching kflo use gsp's strategy against the cage, bj penn's incredible take down defence, then watching penn's passing work, ground and pound, and also his submission technique, against another solid blackbelt jiujutsu of kflo... its pretty entertaining.

Since I'm new to watching ufc, I've always wondered why is it when someone is defending a take down they only throw light jabs at the head. Like the penn/florian fight. Everytime florian tried to take him down, penn would just throw light jabs at his head. Why doesn't penn throw bombs at his head? Especially when florian has his face buried in penn's stomach againt the fence. Why wouldn't penn just let loose with bombs to the head, instead of those light taps that don't seem to do anything.

Look at the master talk, why don't you fight in the UFC then?

It is. When florian has his head buried in penn's stomach's it's basically free shots to the head. Penn is hitting him in the head, but is tapping him lightly. He can throw bombs if he wanted to, but chooses not to. I mean he's already punching him in the head, just lightly. He can increase the power if he wanted to, so I don't get the point you're trying to make.
