These guys were an incredible band, their live performance were insane. They always had insane costumes. They stated they didn't want to buy into the cult of personality. They also took the piss out of everything. This song is spoken word, it tells of a change in our bar scene/ society during the 90's This article gives some insight. https://www.theaureview.com/music/please-take-me-seriously-reflections-on-tism/ Saw them about a dozen times. Gurn
music starts 2 minutes in- a song he wrote, while delivering mail for the US postal service, when he noticed he was the only person some of his residents would see that day. 2 1 Link to comment
bishopshodan
@Ilunga this song popped in my head from way back re: our quick species comments. There's a war in the day no peace at nightThere's blood on the hands of man yet we don't sympathizeThe meat eater kills the cows they just depersonalize to justifyTheir own lust as the helpless dieAnd it's ironic how we cry for world peaceBut the violence won't decrease unless our murders ceaseSo understand in the slaughter-house who's the beastAnd I demand that the innocent be releasedWell I've tried the best I canI've tried to understandCivilized man so-called civilized manYes I've tried the best I canBut who can understandCivilized man?Guilt free so-called moralityFallacyThe 4 foods group just western medicine quackery(Meat would be) $35 a pound but our taxes subsidizeAs 35 million starve as we gormandizeThe grains that could feed the world go to their industryTo fatten up the cattle for death and I protestRain forests once here kiss goodbye the biosphere ozone nightmareJust see the people don't even care!Guilt free we overlooked the blood and brutalityAnd the TV propaganda covers heinous realityA plea to the people of this land to doWhat they can with hope for a civilized man 1 Link to comment
