woot
So many flip out over a few comments by Milbury now but during the finals... not a peep from anyone on twitter or anything.
Madness
I thought it was a big deal then and I think it's a big deal now. It's classless, inappropriate, and reflects poorly on the game.
Jai604
Other than the Canucks vs. whomever, this is surely the first round match up I am most excited about.
Pride
Milbury is right. Crosby should, and will be targeted
DownUndaCanuck
This is basically Boston-Vancouver all over again. Crosby (the Sedins) is getting bumped and bruised after the whistle and away from the puck by young guys like Schenn (Marchand) who are skilled but also gritty players and are causing them to lose focus. Its the tried and tested way to beat skilled players like Malkin, Crosby, Henrik and Daniel Sedin - don't bother "playing them tough", just play them dirty and injure them because for whatever reason the refs let it go and it's part of the game nowadays. Pittsburgh have plenty of tough enforcers, but they're not going to protect Crosby and Malkin when they're on the ice. What Pittsburgh really lacks is a no-nonesense big powerforward who won't be bullied around and can still score at a high level. The Canucks didn't have that last season - we only relied on the Sedins and an injured Kesler to score for us. Now we have Higgins playing well, Booth, Bitz and Kassian who are all guys who can score and who won't be taken off their game by physical play. Lewah
It looks like that Boston winning the cup has turned the east into a bit of a gong show, with a bunch of teams trying to keep up with the Bruins physically. This will be good for the team that makes it in the west because, due to the free flowing nature of the eastern conference, the western team is usually the only team that is banged up significantly, going into the finals. D-Money
As fantastic as the game on Saturday will be regardless, there's a good chance that it could decide which team gets home ice advantage for the 1st round.

Down by the River
Crosby and Malkin have been really dirty. The Sedins were not dirty. They actually deserve more than what they are getting. Non stop slashes, etc from those two. I know so many people love Crosby but come on. He's a great player but he's playing really dirty.
Baka
Some Craig Berube (Flyers assistant coach) quotes: "Crosby and Malkin are the dirtiest players on their hockey team," Berube said. "They slash, they punch guys in the face -- they do all these little things."
bass19
I don't know if Crosby's head will be able to make it through a physical series with the Flyers. Don't wish any bad on the guy but just like the Flyer's couch said here on NHL.com http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=625925 If Crosby continues to be cheap, he will get what is coming to him. The guy needs to learn to stop playing like an agitator because his noggin can't handle it. Don Cherry has said it in the past as well, and I know it's Cherry but he's actually got a point here. The guy is so offensively talented, there is no need for him to be trash talking and wacking guys in the hands and stuff but he continues to do it after all he has gone through. I don't get it personally...maybe he has small dog syndrome???
Madness
I think your conceptualization of dirty is a lot different from most fans.
