So Out Of The 2 We Pick Cory. Possible Destinations For Lou?

This doesn't mean that Luongo is going to get traded. If MG decided that's what he wanted, he would still have to ask Luongo's permission, then find a team willing to take on that massive contract for a guy who just had a pretty bad year, then try to work out some kind of deal with them. This game IS significant though. It is FINALLY an acknowledgement from the Canuck organization that Schneider has been better than Luongo.

we could be trying to make schneids look good so we get more for him in a trade. or maybe were trying to convince him to stay here by giving him more responsibility and somewhat take away the "back-up" tag. maybe the management realizes that if lu loses tonights game, even if its not his fault, the media and fans will run him out of town.

pit would be very smart in picking up schneider. only prob is schneider would still be behind fleury. the fleury schneider tandem would probably be more impressive than the lu schneider tandem of last season. someone needs to take the heavy load off fluery.

I dont think pittsburgh is giving up on fleury just yet, he's just had inconsistencies in his game this season but usually is very good. He's also still a young player and can get better like schneids. Teams that are getting schneider are looking for a #1 goalie not a backup

Tampa Bay makes so much sense for Luongo. Tampa Bay is in Florida where his family resides and although they missed the playoffs this year, they're not your typical cellar dwellar or mickey mouse organization that Luongo definitely wouldn't waive his NTC to go to, like Columbus or something. The Lightning have a great core right now and a good future with a fantastic farm team and prospect pool. They're a solid organization that is currently built in such a way that someone like Luongo - aka a goaltendier - is the missing piece.

TB makes the most sense, but the Nucks would have to take back money........likely Ryan Malone

Luongo and Tanev

Malone, Connelly and a 2nd

would anyone do that trade?

other possible destinations

NJ

Wash

Fla

Dallas

Ana

Seriously? The playoffs are not even over and you are all talking about trading the guy already. The guy broke basically every goal tending record in Canucks history. He reached to the same heights in the playoffs as our old beloved goaltenders like McLean and Broudeur . While Luongo's time as a Canuck may be over, at least have the decency to wait until the end of the playoffs.

Damn sometimes I wonder if the Canucks are hated in the NHL because we have such classless fans.

Any opinion on this is pure speculation at this point, however in the siprit of this topic i would have to say that MG keeps schnieds because not only is he younger but the sky is the limit on his potential.

Lou has been inconsistant ever since his groin issues from last season, and you all can't deny that.

Lou i do believe could be traded (if he waves his NTC) to either TB or CBJ. both of these teams are really hurting bad for a goalie, however we don't know what the future holds so this is just a guess.

I hope Lou is in net tonight and proves us all wrong!!!!!

Go Canucks Go!!!!

NJ - only if Broduer retires

Wash - Holtby and Nuevirth(sp?), so probably not interested in a long term goalie

Florida - low budget and markstrom in the minors, Theodore has worked out well for them so far

Dallas - Lehtonen says hi

Ana - Depends on their views of Hiller going forward. His stats aren't far off of Lu's.

As for tbay deal. They might ask to switch Connolly for Nameistankov(sp?) but they seem like the logical landing spot.

For all the people still thinking about trading Luongo and any associated conversations, CapGeek tweeted this today:

Lots of questions about Roberto Luongo's NTC. He has a full NTC but it does have a few stipulations. #NHL #Canucks

Most pertinent Luongo NTC stipulation is that after final 2013-14 game, he can supply five-team trade list valid through July 15, 2014.

Note that's *trade list*, not *no-trade list* ...
