gourami12
While it would be great to have salaries for all players that truly reflect their performance, sadly it isn't going to happen. Unlikely we will see Ballard going anywhere. Bad news: he has a lot of work to do to live up to his $4.2 million cap hit. The good news: he was actually playing pretty well at the end of the season and post-season so maybe there is hope for him yet.
Kumquats
well the thing i dont understand is that we only let erhoff go for a 4th rounder.odd considering gaustad was worth a 1st.
TheWheeler
I'll take guys that get up for playoffs ANY day over guys that have good regular seasons but end up being retards post season. That goes for the coach as well. How much longer do we need to wait for Edler to bring it 100% come playoff time?

Canada Hockey Place
Not only is the cap hit a concern but I think that spot Ballard takes is pretty important for the development of the prospects. Canucks need Ballard to be Edler's partner. #4 D-man. But Tanev is probably more suited. Just needs time. It's already the case at ES. - link Bieksa - 19:19 Hamhuis - 18:38 Edler - 18:09 Tavev - 15:44 Salo - 15:22 Ballard - 14:22 Rome - 14:00 Alberts - 13:35 Gragnani - 13:04 Training camp proves squat and October is going to suck anyways, I say open the spots up for the rookies. Move Ballard and Alberts. Start with: Hamhuis Bieksa Edler Tanev Sauve Salo Gragnani/Connauton Then sign or trade accordingly.

Canada Hockey Place
not a good idea to throw a young kid with edler at this moment, very risky elder coming off a disappointing year Taney being so early in his career . I would like that idea if elder was playing amazing but he is not.
marleau_12
elder would do so much better with a legit #1 he and Taney are the only 2 guys on d I would 100% keep don't get me wrong I love the other guys but I have high high hopes for elder and tanev

TACIC
Fear is often born from ignorance. I didn't trade anybody. I merely explained the difference between trading for a pending UFA's negotiating rights and trading for a UFA as a rental player. A difference that appeared to be outside your knowledge. Your welcome.

Canada Hockey Place
Funny Ballard story : “I’d spoken to him a few times before and asked if he ever got tired of people mentioning his lack of size. He was about 5-foot-10 and I told him: ‘Next time, get right in their face and say loudly ‘I’m big enough!’ So our GM, Don Waddell, has Steve in our combine interview. I’d forgotten what I’d said to Steve, but Don asks him about size and Steve jumps right at him and says: ‘I’m big enough!’ I don’t know what Don thought, but Philly ended up picking him. “We had Keith Ballard in too, who was about the same height as Downie. When we asked him if he got tired of that size question, Ballard just said: ‘I tell ’em to go f--- themselves’.” http://www.torontosun.com/2012/05/31/nhl-prospects-a-hurting-lot

surtur
considering that AV will play Rome as a forward before Ballard says a lot about AV.. He is fastest player on the team ,probably one of the best skaters, has great hands ,will fight, hit, and doesn't complain when Alberts, Rome etc play instead of him. He wants a chance to be the go to guy.. and he can be... if given the chance.
