4th line

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one who thinks that our 4th line is week like c'mon

kassian malhotra lappy

lappy talks alot but doesn't back it up

malhotra wins faceoffs and is good on defense that it

kassian needs to play top9 or to the minors

people are saying that MG is interisted in travis moen that will help but our 4th line still needs to get bigger.

so here my idea

moen 6'2 bitz 6'5 weise 6'2

and I know what happen to malhotra I say put him in the minors never hurt to have a good 3rd-4th line center for depth his contract is for one more year so he can walk next summer.

lappy will move into our 3rd line center

kassian will go with lappy to the 3rd line

our lineup

sedins burrows

booth kesler higgins/ top6 playmaker

kassian/higgins lappy hansen

moen bitz weise

I know this might be wield but here is another way our lineip could look like(just a wield idea)

sedins bitz had sucess last year for a few games

booth kesler burrows good 2rd line

higgins lappy hansen good checking line with some scoring touch with it

moen malhotra wiese hitting line

If this line up ever happens I will build a shrine of MG and bow to it every night:

Sedin - Sedin - Kesler

Booth - Weiss - Parise

Burrows - Pahlsson - Higgins

Kassian - Lapierre - Hansen

Edler - Garrison

Hamhuis - Bieksa

Tanev - Allen

Schneider

Lack or a veteran back up (Think a Gigure type)

I am not saying I don't like Moen, Weise and Bitz.

Moen is very sought after and is very affective in a 3rd/4th line role

Weise played the part of a 12th forward perfectly this year for our organization

Bitz showed that he could throw his weight around and put up some points.

they are all affective at their roles, but a 4th line center is supposed to be called upon to take timely defensive draws and the occasional offensive zone start when energy is needed, hence why a player like lapierre or malhotra is needed to give a chance at winning that faceoff. Moen - Lapierre - Bitz/Weise is ideal. but Moen - Lapierre - Malhotra almost guarantees 66% of draws won by that line.

Moen may want a bigger role than the 4th line. Bitz is not a natural center I don't think and I struggle to find Weise`s contribution to this team, maybe a fill-in at best. If Kassian has a good training camp I see no reason why he can't make the 3rd line. I'd like to see Manny - Lappy - Bitz as our 4th line. We have a faceoff specialist/defensive forward in Malhotra, a grinder/two-way forward in Lappy, and a PWF/hitter/fighter in Bitz. Perfect combo with some chemistry I think.

kassian malhotra lappy

lappy talks alot but doesn't back it up I thought Lapierre backed it up a lot more this year didnt he have 10+ fights?

malhotra wins faceoffs and is good on defense that it I think Malhotra is going to have a lot better year with being able to train in the offseason.

kassian needs to play top9 or to the minors I agree on Kassian i think it would be best to let him dominate in the AHL for a year.

people are saying that MG is interisted in travis moen that will help but our 4th line still needs to get bigger. Moen would be a solid addition to the 4th and team

so here my idea

moen 6'2 bitz 6'5 weise 6'2

Personally id like to sign Prust and Tootoo for the 4th, both hard hitting tough wingers with speed and defensively responsible and can move up the line up if needed be.

Prust-Manny-Tootoo or Prust-Lapierre-Tootoo (that line would drive teams nuts)

I would love Moen in addition too or instead of one of them.

I think Prust should be a top priority though. He can be offensive, PK and take care of the rough stuff.

I am not against giving lappi a shot at 3rd line center, he's been absolutely wonderful for us at everything we've asked of him and in my mind is much more than a 4th liner. It might not break the bank to build a 4th line out of free agency so it should be explored, I haven't liked our 4th line in years.
