nuck nit
Goaltending was a big problem last night. Missing some cohesion here. If Edmonton beats Vancouver it is going to get hot pretty quick.
oldnews
No problem. If there is a problem, it's the Province.

Forsy
If your defense is impregnable, you will learn to transition from it, and create good offense. If your defense is crap, you will blame the goalies, and find out later on in the playoffs that you can't score either. Good defense is critical to everything. Underachieving Hero of CDC
Luongo was fine tonight. The problem is nothing more than a little rust after a long break. It'll wear off.
Miller32
We had the lead, goaltending was not the problem tonight. We would have won had it not gone to shootout.
bobopan
I can't get over how bad at "defense" our d-man are.. we should have a top-5 defense in the NHL easily... and so far they look like they all have no intention on playing actual defense and are more concentrated on jumping into the play and being offensive.. i think that falls on the coaching staff. I would love for us to aquire a good stay at home D man.. obviously that would mean changing the pairings up which the coaches probably wouldnt want to do. CookieCrumbs
"Offensive puck moving" defenseman. That seems to be the Canucks specialty.
Tortorella's Rant
A combination of everything is the problem.
Bossy
Our defense is trash. We have 5 second pair defensemen and a rookie. Luongo choked as well, he always fracks up late.
shazzam
Lets not underestimate the loss of a steady defenceman that was Sami Salo. Hamhuis is struggling a bit and when he is not going, Bieksa gets exposed big time. There goes our "top" pairing.
Jaku
The problem is Ebbett as second line center.

Forsy
Unless you hire a lidstrom, your defense is not gonna get much better than what we have. Team defense, everyone committed to defense is the key. But tonight was a better night, especially for about 1-2 mins right before the eberle goal, they had a flash of great defense then. Primus099
Luongo played great, would have been 4-2 or 5-2 without him the Oilers were blowing by our defenders all night. Terrible
