J529
Bringing Cooke back really wouldn't help the Canucks imagine around the league and amongst the officials.
Pears
With us rumoured to be interested in quite a few players and only have $7.5 million of cap space and we haven't re-signed any players yet, does anyone else think a significant trade is coming? Edler? And I hate to say it but maybe Burrows as well?

Me_
You are correct on the Cooke and Pettinger trade. IMO it was worse than the Ballard trade. Cooke was dealt becasue AV didn't appreciate his agitating style. Torts despised Avery? That has nothing to do how he might feel about Cooke. Bodee
Ahh memories: Cooke was underutilized under AV, I don't blame him for wanting a trade. He can still play.
Drouin
Eh, why not bring Raffi back as well? Ice them on a line with Lappy
Me_
Having watched this video, you have to wonder if we want to win a SC letting players like Cooke slip away. The guy has COMPETE written all over him. I don't know if he still has this fire but if he has we must do whatever we can to land him. This guy engages and frightens the opposition imo. He will keep guys who want to take a shot at our youngster in place.

CookieCrumbs
Too many softies on the Canucks. We need some nastiness that's genuine for once. Cooke - Lapierre - Asham
Ilya Mikheyev
Depends on GMMG's strategy. But with limited cap there's basically two options: look for a bargain for the top-6 & play youth in the bottom-6, OR, have a balanced 4 lines with some youth throughout. Sedin - Sedin - Youth (Kassian?) Burrows - Kesler - Youth (Jensen?) Higgins - Youth (Horvat/Schroeder?)- Booth UFA (Cooke?) - UFA (Lapierre? Hendricks?) - Hansen Sestito With the latter Cooke would be a great option for the bottom six LW.

DeNiro
Based on that logic, the Canucks would have won it already.
