UFCanuck
This is why I'm glad we didn't take Nichushkin. Always a huge threat of them leaving for the KHL or demanding more money.
Madness
Serves them right. He wanted out and they wouldn't trade him. Now they lost him.
22sedins33
This is a real shame. He had such amazing hands and was so fun to watch. It's a tough tug of war balancing giving a young player the chance to succeed and forcing them to earn their spot. He was clearly frustrated with the process with the Jets. Wish him all the best in the K
billabong
U can't draft Russians no matter the player, it simply isn't worth the risk of coming up with nothing

Rick Grimes
AWFUL News for Jets fans. Burmistrov had top 6 potential written all over him in my eyes.

Lonny_Bohonos_14
Luongo is that you??? edit: Maybe Burmistrov comes back in a few years? Scott Brown seems to think he's going over there to "continue his development" and not necessarily to stay there for good.
Lonny_Bohonos_14
To add to my point of Burmi not getting ice time: gary lawless @garylawless 1m Burmi wasn't going to play for Claude Noel. Not at price #nhljets were offering. maybe he thinks he can outwait noel. maybe. but not chipman
Phamda
Burmistrov left because of Noel, plan and simple. He request a trade so he could stay in the NHL and the Jets wouldn't trade him. Jets retain his rights til he's 27 when he becomes a UFA. This has nothing to do with money, the kid wants to play in the NHL but he's constantly getting the raw end of the deal. They keep signing veterans to take top 9 spots and he's forced to play 4th line or press box. He was rushed into the NHL, then development was just halted. Right now this is the right decision for him to continue to develop. He'll be back one day for sure
pibroch
Jets fault. They rushed him into the nhl instead of giving him more time to develop in the minors. Then they played him on the 4th when he is more suited to at least third with second power play time.
D-Money
Should have traded him. Oh well, it's still an option. Just don't expect as much return now.
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
I had to smile a little at this news, just because I was checking out some other boards yesterday where Jets fans were talking about trading him to the Canucks and they wanted a minimum of Schroeder + Horvat (and many of them were complaining about that proposed return). Bruce Boudreau
Typical can't trust the Russians. If Washington can't get Kuznetsov to come over with Ovechkin on their team than every one of them is a flight risk.
Lancaster
Poor management. You put players in positions to succeed, not force them into roles they're ill-suited for to force them to "earn a spot".
