Super Funk
Hi all, Does anyone know any public parks or recreational areas in GVR that still has the old style seesaws that use a big plank of wood or long piece of metal, like the one shown in the below pic? Appreciate any help!
Blackberries
What an odd and vaguely creepy inquiry.

ilduce39
I believe they were removed for being too discriminatory and dangerous towards extremely skinny kids.
avelanch
there's got to be better ways to injure your girlfriend.
Blackberries
It's for my gf who is a fan of them, and i'd like to take her to one. Is the troll full for the day?
Super Funk
You could have elaborated rather than posting "I'm looking for a seesaw"
avelanch
Right, and you could have just asked me to elaborate rather than leaving a smart-ass remark.
etsen3
Well that escalated quickly.

ckamo
I haven't been since I was young, but I recall Maple Grove Park (W51st and Yew) having seesaws. And as recently as last year Granville Island's still had one by the ballet school (I think?).
Scottish⑦Canuck
I remember there being some by the marina in Horseshoe Bay. But that was like 10 years ago so they're probably gone.

ckamo
Question though, What would "new" seesaws look like. Aren't they all just one long plank?
Tre Mac
Bakerview park in South Surrey had them but I haven't notice in awhile. Me and my ex gf. used to go on them until one fateful day she sat down and launched me 20ft into the air. I was stuck in a douglas fir for hours and it took 2 cops, 4 firefighters, 3 paramedics and a member of the coast guard to get me down. That was a eventful Tuesday, and we never spoke again. Grapefruits
Those were so much fun back in the day. You could get your buddy to help hold the other guy up in the air and then jump off quickly, watching him slam his crotch on the pole as he slammed to the ground... good times
