DIBdaQUIB
Could of been a worse period, still bad though but that's understandable. The Nucks are bound to get better as the fatigue becomes a factor. LOL! It could get a lot worse as the game goes on.
Warhippy
THis is where MG's "process" and vision have led the Nucks. Frome a team that intimidated with its offensive threat, to a team that can't keep pace with the top teams in the leageu. Only three years ago, the Nucks dictated pace and style of play. Now they're relegated to trying to hang on and slow the talented teams down. Chicago won the cup with speed and talent 5 +/- years ago and then had to do a mini-rebuild. Did they copy the Boston's and LA model? no, they got faster and more talented. Gillis decided instead to get bigger, slower an pluggier!! process So, we can extrapolate the exact same tired garbage that we keep hearing. Point the finger to this year and complain. Or we can take that theory, look at our available cap space in the upcoming season, realize that compared to the top 10 teams int he league realize we have more available cap space, with better prospects than we've had in the last decade, no real contracts to sign this season and in a cap world that is only going up a ridiculous amount of talent in our system with an even more ridiculous amount of cap space in the next 2 seasons. Rather tired of hearing this oh gmmg is bad so bad traded cody cory and omg we suck and we will always suck trade Gillis nonsense. Anyone with an eye to the future can see that we are in a seriously enviable position. We are currently doing better than most thought we would and the playoffs are mroe than a possibility. Embrace the future because it is bright, don't worry about the present because the present is mediocre

That is EXACTLY what I was afraid would happen after we struggled with Boston's physical style in '11. That being said, still gonna support this team Go Canucks Go
alt kilgore
Forget Luongo being intimidated in Chicago, the Sedins seem really intimidated. I've never seen them so quick to get knocked off the puck.
Dr. Crossbar
Not a lot of scoring chances! Have to shake things up big time.
burrninator
Patrick Kane has really matured. He seems more humble, even though he's still an immensely talented offensive player. He's a long way from that bastard with the cocky smirk you wanted to smack off his face.

Salacious Crumb
Big breaths. 1st trimester...lots of games left (7 vs Calgary and Edmonton). The intensity will ramp up after the Olympics and then again after the trade deadline. It's only 1 regular season game. But for cryin' out loud PLAY BETTER! Embrace the future because it is bright, don't worry about the present because the present is mediocre I feel so much better...not! The future is an illusion we believe will happen. Neither you nor anyone else knows how it will unfold. What we do know, is what has happened in the past. Gillis has not shown the Balls to make meaningful deals that bring in impact players. The only reason this season isn't a complete write-off already is Santorelli, a player brought in to play in Utica! As for our prospects...yes we have a few decent ones but most if not all are projected to be 3rd or 4th liners and maybe Horvat as a 2nd line/Kesler type. If you want to believe in Gillis and that he will pull some miracle out of has a$$ go ahead. He's got s many core players signed with NTCs that are performing below their cap hit, I'm not convinced he will have the room you mention. Still...I have hope. Dr. Crossbar
If we come out and lay some body, we might be able to turn momentum. Nucks usually play well when flying and hitting.
