@patersonjeff: #Canucks PK month over month:

December 32/34 (94.1%)

January 44/58 (75.9%)

Those December numbers.

Two completely different teams between those two months.

Lets hope the team brings more of what they did in December next month and less of what they did in January.

MY GOD I NEED TO MOVE TO WINNIPEG

saw one of those at nux game, wearing nux low cut tee. Then I heard the gal complaining to her friends about the attention and comments the male fans are giving her. Gee, what do you expect wearing that in front of drunk young guys?

when the PP sucks all the time, good PK is the equalizer. That explains why they had a losing record in Jan. Can't win without a good D, esp when the offense is dry.

It's baffling how they do a 180 in what seemed like overnight. Sure, a drop off can be expected but this whole month has been damn pathetic...

The Vancouver Canucks return to Winnipeg for the first time to play the new Jets. For many current and past Canucks, Winnipeg holds a special place -- it's where it all started. Trevor Linden and Dave Babych both stepped on the ice in Winnipeg for the first time. Jannik Hansen and Alex Burrows played for the AHL's Manitoba Moose.

Homer Deb will not abandon her team and is in this for the long haul. I remind people that I saw my Lions lose 6/7 games (about 1/3 of the season) in 2011 (?) and they then went on to win the GC. People laughed that I was still on board halfway through that season...wrote it off.

I am fully aware of the issues that we're having and that an aging core is slowing down and has been figured out in a predictable way. I also see a lack of go for the throat urgency that may or may not kick in...but, if it does, I think they're still fully capable. They have to want it as badly as we do and with them seemingly in conservation mode at times, we should at least have something in the tank for playoffs. I've seen this team die trying to get there (on top)...so pacing themselves isn't a bad thing. But complacency is.

Go Canucks Go!

Agreed.

I'm sorry - but Sully addressing the media about the team's woeful PP & scoring troubles....by repeating the mantra, "we just have to let these players figure things out for themselves"...sounds like a cop-out & something that AV might have said. Give 'em MORE than cheerleading....or a butt-kicking - pleazzze!

How about fresh ideas. Hire a PP specialist. Someone who can see more than just Xs & Os ...& who has enough creative-energy flowing to get these guys practicing things that will inspire quicker & more spontaneous reactions in game situations...while under extreme pressure. There are drills,...there are means...there are ways.

Playing this waiting game - hasn't worked in awhile now. Time for change...in small ways 1st...before measures need to be more drastic. Staying tuned. Hopefully Torts used his suspension-time to work-up a few solutions.
