Jaimito
So Schneider, Luongo and prospect for 3 prospects. Great job Gillis! from top 2 top goalies to 2 rookies. Get ready for long playoff drought. not renewing my season tix. Been a holder since 2000.
hockeyville88
I'm shocked. It's been talked about for so long but it's hard to believe that it's actually happened. It'll be weird to not have Luongo as our goalie. I can't believe we gave away Schneider and Luongo for...not a whole lot in return. I feel like this team is in for a full-on implosion. It's gonna be a long, painful road. It has been such a volatile period of Canucks history. The Luongo era is hard to recap. To me it feels like Luongo embraced his team mates and the Canucks organization, but not the city. His kids were not born here and he always saw Florida as still being home. Like he just said today, "I'm going home." So thanks Lu for all the memories. Good luck to you. Welcome home.
theilluminati
The 3 goalies in the organization (Lack, Markstrom & Ericsson) have a combined 68 appearances in the NHL. Going to be a bumpy rebuild...
schlaBAM
Only the Canucks could go from having 2 elite goalies to none in less than 6 months. ROFL. Schneids was traded 8 months ago, so.. You don't make a whole lot of sense.
SamJamIam
Thanks Lu, but just like we gave up an old Bert for you, we give up an old you for Matthias and Markstrom. Every deal involving Lu has been a win for us.
Twilight Sparkle
lolz Dustin Penner @Dustinpenner25 13m “@strombone1: ” Hey bud. Quick question. Do we get the air miles or does the team for the flights?
Ben Kenobi
Get ready for long playoff drought. Yep. Sad to see. End of an era. Thanks, Bobby Lou!
Hunter56
Wow I was not expecting this. After all the drama that happened with Luongo and Schneider and in the end both were traded away. Also, how weird that Luongo and Tim Thomas are now teammates.
Monteeun
Don't let the door hit you in the rear end on the way out! I'm pretty sure he's laughing at you with his two gold medals. lol
coastal1
He's the best goalie we've ever had, but at the same time I get it. He's wanted out for a while, and we've gotta start getting younger. Thanks for the memories Luo, there were some bad ones but there were a bunch of great ones too! Lots of people, including me, will say that McLean was better. Grapefruits
from top 2 top goalies to 2 rookies. Get ready for long playoff drought. not renewing my season tix. Been a holder since 2000. meh, we were headed for one anyways. Gillis has screwed up this team a great deal. Thanks to the ridiculous contract and NTC he gave Lu, he made him next to worthless on the trade market. Gillis better pull a rabbit out of his hat, even though, we all know it's unlikely. Gillis needs to go!
AllEyezOnMe
Finally Gillis makes a decent trade, this has been in the works for a while now and it was bound to happen one way or another. We have 2 young Swedish goaltenders now which is great.

BlueShark
Like others have said - surprised this day finally happened. Not sure if happy with this trade (in terms of what we got back) but I am sad to see Lou go. So... firesale?
Dumb Nuck
Great, we've proved we can't put the puck in the net, now we don't have someone proven to keep it out.
Ben Kenobi
including me, will say that McLean was better. Uh. No. McLean wasn't even better in '94. Luongo is the first (and only), Vezina calibre goalie the Canucks have had.

yes we can nucks
Don't let the door hit you in the rear end on the way out! You know that song 'Big Yellow Taxi'? Lu's in that taxi.
mj vic
Happy that Lou is getting out of the circus here in van and to the team of his choice after enduring so much bs here. He is a class act and will be missed more than most realise. Gillis has to be made accountable for this mess. We gave up two of the leagues best goalies for Bo Horvat (nothing against Bo but come on!) and frankly that just isn't acceptable. We have squandered two of the biggest assets this club has had in sometime, it scares me to think what will happen on any Kesler trade.
