Blue Jays option Alek Manoah to minor leagues for second time this season

I hope he spends the rest of the season in the minors and maybe goes to Arizona in the fall. He needs it.

I'm excited to see Hagen Danner too.

Jays make a few moves

https://www.msn.com/en-ca/sports/baseball/blue-jays-put-danner-on-15-day-injured-list-pearson-recalled-from-triple-a-buffalo/ar-AA1fbMra?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=4c71a7d2165f436baea3ca0d273913ec&ei=166

TORONTO — Right-handed pitcher Hagen Danner has been placed on the 15-day injured list by the Toronto Blue Jays.

He left Friday's game with a left oblique strain.

Danner was making his Major League Baseball debut and got one out before leaving the game due to the injury.

Right-handed pitcher Nate Pearson was recalled from triple-A Buffalo.

He was active for today's game against the Chicago Cubs.

Pearson (5-2) has a 5.31 earned-run average with 39 strikeouts over 39 innings pitched.

This report by The Canadian Press was first published Aug. 12, 2023.

Need to win these games as the Red hot Seattle Mariners are on a 8 game W Streak and are only 0.5 games back of the Blue Jays wildcard spot

Seattle- is to the Blue Jays, as those green rocks are to Superman. :(

It could be that I'm just overreacting to the team's recent issues with scvoring runs, but lately I'm wondering if maybe this team just simply isn't as good as everyone thought.

The goal in the offseason was to get better defensively and the team certainly did that....but I'm wondering if maybe having Teo and Gurriel in the lineup wasn't covering up a fundamentally flawed offence?

The overall numbers are decent, but this team just can't seem to string hits together and it almost never delivers in the clutch. Too many of the hitters don't seem to consider what the situation dictates. Instead, they just go up there and react, hoping for a good result, rather than having a plan that fits the situation.

I know there has been a lot of talk about Schneider and Martinez not doing the job, but I doubt there's a coach in A ball that doesn't teach his players to go up there and look for a good pitch to hit.

Maybe these guys just aren't good enough....

I think you are right. The season is long enough now and they proven that aren't good enough, certainly not at the same level as the O's, Astros, Rays, etc.

We are sold nothing but hype two years in a row and this group hasn't delivered. While they may barely squeak in the playoffs they aren't winning a playoff game. The pitching, defense and bullpen look okay to me but they need to make changes on the offence.  There are not enough guys that can get the clutch hit or do the little things (sac fly, bunting). Jays with runners on base and only 0 or 1 outs is a rally killer.

Also, the Jays need to decide to keep either Bichette or Vladdy but not both. I would take Bo over Vlad as I think he is the better and more complete player you need to contend.

I don’t think it’s that because just two years ago they were one of the most feared lineups in the entire league, and it hasn’t really changed a whole lot besides Teo and Gurriel. Only thing you could kind of point to is Dante Bichette leaving and the overall hitting taking a nose dive ever since.

Two years ago, they had Teo, Gurriel, Marcus Semien and Rowdy Tellez. They also got 22 HR and 81 RBI from Randal Grichuk that season.

I'd say the lineup has changed quite a bit.....
