khay
You seriously believe Vey can become a 50 pt centre? I've got some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you. He can probably get to 3rd liner and that's about it. Sure, I've got 2 million dollars to burn. Was thinking about burning it at the casinos. Whereabouts is your property and how good is the oceanview? Vey is already a second liner on this team. at least in terms of skill and creativity. Hugor Hill
Vey is already a second liner on this team. at least in terms of skill and creativity. If Vey is a 2C on our team, then we need a new 2C. He has potential, but Kadri is a sure thing as 2C.
Wiznac
The only player I'd want off Toronto is JVR but once again the price is more then I'd be willing to pay
Mackcanuck
Kadri was offered 5 yrs at $4.5M per year and hadn't re-upped (Jan.21/2015) http://www.torontosun.com/2015/01/21/maple-leafs-nazem-kadri-talking-contract He better be "real good" for that kind of term and money! duc_evo
I don't want Kadri, he couldn't hack it in the west. I'd rather Benning go for a Big Center like Johanson or Anders Lee. A line something like Kassian Johanson/ Lee and Virtanen is something I dream about.

Right, Vey for Kadri straight up, I would do; no doubt Kadri has higher ceiling. Kadri for Tanev, I wouldn't do because if I'm JB (or WD), I think Vey has good potential to be that 2nd line center. Furthermore, trading away Tanev creates a big hole in the lineup that is hard to fill because effectively, Tanev is playing as a top 2 defender right now. MoneypuckOverlord
No thanks for Kari. Never liked him during the Kari for luongo rumours, my opinion hasn't changed. All skills no grit and character, pass.

You know nothing about Kadri. Youtube search "Kadri hits". Check his official stats. He had more hits than Kassian last year. And he would have more hits than any one of our top 6 forwards. Living in Toronto, I don't ever hear about character issues with Kadri. I don't know where people get that from. It is Kessel with character issues, not Kadri. Skilled young top six players with an element of grit to their game as well?

He is even defensively responsible now unlike a few years ago. The only knock on him is below 50% draws but hey not everyone is perfect.
