[Proposal] MTL-VAN

Recommended Posts

Hey ya'll this is my first post. Creeped on CDC for so long until I was finally able to make a post, so don't flame too hard.

Would you guys do

Vrbata-Prust and a 3rd(2017) to MTL for Juulsen and a 1st or 2nd(2016) Do you think they go for it or not? Your opinions would be appreciated :)

Heck I would just do Verby for a first and 2nd round pick....Juulsen seems to be overrated on these boards because he is a local boy. Long term project, we already have a few of these kinds of d-men (subban, jasek, brisebrois)

Juulsen is a Right handed shot thats why. He also has a hard shot which is something we are missing,

The whole Vrbata for Juulsen thing has been suggested countless times on this board. It Doesn't work for Montreal for w number of reasons.

1) Montreal has roughly $2m in cap space and you're proposing sending them $7.5m worth of cap hit

2) they traded away Prust. He's not needed there at all. Their bottom 6 has been really strong this season. Prust adds nothing to the deal for them.

3) Juulsen is Montreal's only blue chop defensive prospect now that Beaulieu Pateryn and Tinordi have graduated

4) Has a team EVER traded away the player they selected in the first round the same season he was selected?  Let alone for a rental?  I haven't been able to find a single example of a team doing that

Also , there's no way Montreal trades away last years first and this years first for a rental, a 4th line plug and a 3rd

This deal just doesn't work for Montreal on any level.

Jasek is a forward.

Too bad for the Habs.  What if we take back a contract?  Vrby for Juulson and a dead weight contract?  We could through in the Smurf Subban too.  That works.  It's easy!  JB get it done.

Hmmm very good points. Okay would you do perhaps

Tanev/Edler-Vrbata-Gaunce to NYI for Hamonic-Nelson/Bailey? Maybe we throw in a pick?

I really wouldn't mind getting Nelson back though, big dude 6'3 205 I believe plus he's young what else can we throw in for him?

Maybe the three guys mentioned is enough, or we could add that second we got in compensation for the idiots in CBJ signing Torts? I still can't believe we got a second from all that.

Considering he's been on their 1st line with Tavares it's not going to happen. Everyone likes him, including the Islanders.

Thanks for the information.  Would his contract be a throw in, to help balance Cap dollars?
