If Hammer is willing to waive to a bunch of these teams JB could hit a jackpot return.

All depends on Hamhuis though...

Not sure Hamhuis has to be willing to waive to all of these teams, JB should still be able to take all the offers and use them to up the price on Hamhuis, then he can just ask him where he is willing to go and take the best offer from the places he says yes to. JB doesn't have to tell the other GMs anything about which teams Hamhuis will waive for, so its really a non-factor in negotiation standpoint outside of actually executing the deal.

That they do, but Benning wants a player.  But yeah -- prospect plus one of those firsts is about right.

Although, isn't Boston supposed to be rebuilding, after all the dumping at last year's draft?  Seems to be a bit of a disconnect here.

Boston's been one of the top teams in the East this season, most teams playoff bound don't really take the "rebuild approach" at the TDL...just look at the Canucks last season, kept a lot of assets instead of trading them because? Playoffs.

Right, but remember all their dumping last year?  Or was that their one-year "retool on the fly"?

Interesting though, they moved Dougie and Lucic for futures, and improved.

Oh yeah, I remember, but once a team sees improvement/success, it's hard to go back to a rebuild mode where you're selling off assets and stockpiling picks.

If the Canucks were playoff bound this season, there's little to no chance that Hamer would be in trade talks.
