CRAZY_4_NAZZY
Into what role? Much like Hansen, Rodin can be a very effective player depending on the role you place him in. IF its an energy type of game on the third line of Malhotra and Hansen, it is very duable, he has great speed, and loves to create chances off the forecheck. His hands are just as good as Hansen's and has a gritty two way style of hockey, something that will bold well for AV. He isn't afraid to mix in up either, as he drives the net hard and because of his offensive hands he can create a lot of opportunites. So Anton Rodin could very much steal the show and snag a roster spot. I dont get why people say he has to have a fantastic camp because he has already played a full season and a half against full grown men. He could very well come out of no where and surprise lots. I agree with Sterling, Rodin has the capability to be the darkhorse that nobody considered. Top six role would be harder for Rodin to crack with Sturm, Higgins, Samuelsson and Hodgson but he has the ability to outshine some of the regulars. I think the "fantastic camp" comes from the fact our lineup is already enough of a log jam. Sedins - Burrows; Higgins - Kesler - Sturm; Samuelsson - Malhotra - Hansen; Oreskovich - LaPierre - ——— .So unless some of these guys are injured in October, it's going to be difficult, especially since Raymond and Hodgson are both out of that lineup, and since B. Sweatt deserves a good look too. I would consider Rodin outplaying Hodgson, B. Sweatt, and Sturm/Samuelsson a fantastic camp.
Fat Alberts
He's listed at 6'0, 176. http://vancouver.24hrs.ca/Sports/2011/06/30/2011_Prospect_Development_Camp_Roster.jpg
SID.IS.SID.ME.IS.ME
He's listed at 6'0, 176. http://vancouver.24h...Camp_Roster.jpg Those numbers are pretty inaccurate and often prove quite outdated. For example, they have Justin Courtnall at 6'2, 185 (which, if memory serves, is about where he was when he was drafted in 2007), when the current college sites have him at 6'3", and between 205 and 210 lbs: http://www.goterrier...l_justin00.html http://www.collegeho...ayers/?pd=26623 Rodin looks to be bigger (in recent photos) than what that chart has him listed at. I've also seen Grenier listed at 6'5, Labate at 190... If Rodin is 6'1 and 190+ that would be great.
HomeBrew
From what I have seen, I really like how his game has developed. He's got skill and plays with a lot of grit. Rodin could very well take a spot on the roster - much to the chagrin of Hodgson:
micgao
He won't play with the nucks this year. No point in rushing him. A year in the AHL will help him way more.

Master 112
If he's ready for the NHL and proves it, I don't see why he wouldn't get a shot with the big club... However, I don't expect to see him in the NHL next year.

VancouverStyle
I see no problem with him getting a few games. Alain wasn't too keen on playing rookies. He might get in a few games with the Canucks here and there during the regular season as a call up. Unless he wows the coaching staff during training camp, he might be in the AHL for atleast a season or two.
wolfgang puck
Would be cool to see him step right into the lineup but I'd think he'd need some time in the AHL to get used to the north american style game before he's ready for that.I'd expect him to challenge for a roster spot the following year after a full season in Chicago but could be called up this season if we get hammered with injuries or have a bad scoring slump. All I am saying is that people seem to think that there is space for Hodgson to make the team next year, but a player like Rodin could quite possibly out play him for that spot. That is, if there is even a spot to be given to a rookie forward.

AV will play rookies that are capable of stepping in and making an impact.

Is there any chance that any of our rookies could step in and contribute at the NHL level? Seeing how Gillis hasn't really done anything with the free agent frenzy.
