Popular Post Baer.
We just added almost 700 points to our roster and we kept our biggest prospects. I'd call that a win.

But you have to give to get, and Erik being traded to Ottawa made me a sad panda. Not every day that there is a top young player on a good team who fits our timeline on the block, and I really enjoy watching Ehlers play. Your prospect pool can absorb the hit, and I like the team better with Nik on it. Thanks to @cunningham19 for being up for rapid back and forth offers at silly hours in the morning.

Welcome from Australia Frogger. Send me a PM, let me know directions you want to go. Boston wants a backup goalie, and has the biggest prospect pool of top D. Which we would spend on a top RW, possibly that goalie, or play off warriors in general, from top teams.
Popular Post D-Money
Columbus Blue Jackets - State of the Union, Jack! Going into this offseason, Columbus management knew some tough decisions had to be made. Many of our previous moves were made with the intention to "go for it" in 2017-18, and 2018-19. Although the 2019 playoffs did not go as hoped, after winning the 2018 playoffs, and the 2018-19 regular season, it's hard to call the plan anything but a resounding success. But there were a number of large raises required this year (Arvidsson, Rittich, Bobrovsky, Dermott, Heinen) and some players that had retention were going to be full cap hit next season (Kessel, Kadri), or walking as free agents (Marleau, Stralman). By our calculations, we were sitting at about $89.9M of cap for next season, without including extensions for pending RFAs Rittich & Heinen. On top of this, the team had no picks in 2019, and the prospect system was getting pretty bare after all the deals to stack the roster for the last 2 seasons. So the task for this offseason, was to 1) get under the cap, 2) add some decent 2019 picks and prospects, and 3) still ice a team that can compete for the cup next season. And the goal was to do all of that without having to move our 5 top players: Brad Marchand, Mark Scheifele, Victor Hedman, Viktor Arvidsson, and Sergei Bobrovsky. It wasn't exactly easy, but with the series of moves announced within the last week, the challenge was met. Here is the sum total of the 4 trades made: Out: Phil Kessel, Nazem Kadri, Nick Foligno, David Rittich, Danton Heinen, Jordie Benn (UFA rights) In: Paul Stastny, Josh Bailey, Liam Foudy, 2019 FLA 1st, Blake Comeau, 2019 MIN 2nd, 2019 ANA 4th (Korpisalo went in, then out. And Nilsson and Rychel were throw-ins to get extra roster flexibility) Although we didn't get quite as much as we hoped for Kadri and Kessel, the sum total of the deals looks pretty fair. With the exception of Stastny (who I am thrilled to add), the team got significantly younger. We are now under the projected $83M cap, and have 3 picks in the upcoming draft (2 in the top-50). Liam Foudy was a recent RL 1st rounder, who immediately becomes our top prospect in the system. And although the current roster isn't quite as stacked as previous versions, we still think this will be a top-10 team next year, that has a decent chance to win in the playoffs: Brad Marchand - Mark Scheifele - Viktor Arvidsson Josh Bailey - Paul Stastny - Brandon Tanev Blake Comeau - Craig Smith - Michael Frolik William Carrier - Travis Boyd - Mathieu Joseph Barclay Goodrow Victor Hedman - Matt Niskanen Brian Dumoulin - Travis Dermott Robert Bortuzzo - Dan Girardi Nick Seeler, Christian Djoos Sergei Bobrovsky Martin Jones 3
