Yeah Apparently there was more competition for the second overall pick than the first, but we got to clear out a ton of cap and are getting a helluva player in the draft. Cheers @Salter, and good luck with the elite talent you select!

Popular Post Salter
Obviously a super hard thing to do trading away Seth Jones, but we believe at #6 we can get an awesome piece in the draft this year, as well as use the rest of the assets in the trade. As far as the top two picks go, sometimes you've gotta build up the competition for your trading chip I'm going to take a page out of the OHL's book and announce who I will be selecting first overall before the draft. Zigmund.Palffy
12 hours ago, Master Mind said: The decision: To CHI: Tyson Barrie, Brayden Schenn, Olivier Rodrigue To DET: 1st Overall Pick In a last ditch effort from @Salter, the Chicago Blackhawks pulled the trigger on an offer they could not refuse! "This trade makes Chicago a legit contender (hopefully) next year. "We are going all in!" - says GM WWE40, "We have a team that can win now and adding Tyson Barrie and Brayden Schenn helps us out. Also we added a good goalie prospect in Oliver Rodrigues who was named 2018's top North American goalie. We see bright things in Chicago with some crazy prospects flourishing in the system. Our goal is to win the cup and this could be the last time all these guys can see each other in the same locker room as we plan on going younger after next season, there could be more deals to make on the way but right now we are very happy to have Tyson and Brayden join our team", says WWE40. Chicago Blackhawks would like to thank those GM's who had long discussions and offers for the 1st overall pick, but at the end the organization thinks this trade made the most sense to us. Good luck to the Detroit Redwings and @Salter !
